RE-71R has low noise ratings, as in very low noise? Or as in low rating because of high noise level?

low rating = high noise = bad as a daily driver

I've run through a set of the RE-71R's and they were very noisy but great on grip. The car definitely felt more planted. Currently I am running Continental DW's for street and about to try a set of Toyo R888R next time out at the track. Looking forward to that!

I ran these for all of 3-4k this year. Not very good once they degrade. Grip and cornering stability drop off once they are near the end of their life.
Noise is an understatment....
Michelin pss is a much better all around tire.
For a street car, not worth the trade offs....

RE-11s are similar. At the 70% wear mark they fall off rapidly. But new... mad grip.

I need to decide on what to run this coming summer. I've been on RE-11s for 4 seasons and my only is concern steering response of either PSS or PS4S. I have a feeling they will feel sloppy in comparison First world problems.

I contacted Michelin again today about 18s, as they currently offer only one size. Response was not encouraging:

"We do not have any knowledge of making more 18 inch tires for the Pilot Sport 4 S"

May have to start wheel shopping . . .

I asked again about plans for releasing the Michelin Pilot Sport 4s in 18" sizes (245/40ZR18/XL is still the only one available).

Michelin's response today: 'The 18" rim sizes will launch February 1, 2018.'

How do you record the mileage when the tires are installed to claim warranty from Michelin? I assume an authorized Michelin shop needs to record it and you need to buy from them too? I always get them online.

I buy online as well. I just tell them what the mileage is. No issues so far
