Audi S4 + Lexus IS350
Thinking about purchasing a 2009 C63, would like some advice!

Looking to get a third car as my new daily driver. Currently have a 2010 Audi S4 (daily) and 2007 Lexus IS350 (show car). Both have over $20K in upgrades done on them and I really do not want to get rid of either one. Been really thinking of getting rid of the S4 due to problems and considering my options, looks like I'm only getting roughly $15K for trade in with it mostly back to stock. And I will owe roughly $20-30K on top for a newer pre-owned S4 or CLA45 since I "need" AWD. But after doing some thinking, I would rather keep my S4 for winter use and since it's the last "S" generation that Audi will make with a manual trans.

So I found a few 09-11 year C63's in the $25-30K price range with 40-60K miles. I will probably put 10K miles per year on it. Wanted to ask you guys what are some things to look at on the car at the dealer. Going tomorrow or later this week. Also, what are common problems with the C63 and rough repair costs? And do these cars burn oil? My main issue with the S4 is that it burns a quart of oil ever 1K miles, tired of having to add a quart every month.

Apologize if these are questions commonly asked but sort of in a rush to learn as much on these cars in case I actually work out a deal on one soon. Thanks!

2012 C63 AMG
Before you get beaten to death....start here:

I've got a 2012 and it doesn't really burn oil. Maybe a quart ever 5k miles.
Good luck.

2015 C63 AMG Coupe
After having my '15 c63 for a month and a half now, the car isn't the best daily driver (although heck of a lot of fun driving). Some of my own personal issues which may not concern you; average 9-10 mpg, small fuel tank capacity, low to the ground, sports suspension, tight cabin. Keep in mind this car is rwd since you mentioned you "need" awd. I know that for the 2009-early 2011, theres the notorious headbolt issue. Make sure to check the headbolt list to make sure the one you are buying isn't affected or has had the headbolts done (very important). I'm pretty new to the forum so i don't mind answering. Hope you actually get the c63... they are great sports cars. Good luck!

I traded my 11 S4 for my 13 C63 and really don't miss the S4 at all! I am in the Boston area and just run a decent set of snows in the winter - S4 was probably better in the 3 snowy days of the winter, but C63 is better every other day of the year! My Audi drank oil also, C63 uses almost nothing - goes through fuel though!

Just make sure on the older (pre 2011 years) that it has had the headbolts replaced as that is the most expensive most major issue they had for the early years into 2010 or so. 2011 and newer and the issue has been resolved - it is a 3-5k repair if a headbolt fails. Search around for that issue you will find lots of threads!
