any suggestions for modifications on a 507c63

Hi guys, this is my first time posting here but have been reading lots of great posts and suggestions. I purchased a 507 in April and have slowly been gathering parts ( modifications ) The car has 6000miles on it but the previous owner drove under I believe a delivery truck and folded the hood and one fender as well as rad,a/c condenser etc. When I saw this come up I jumped on it and sold my E46 supercharged M3 and now have a little bit of room to play as the car was substantially less due to the accident.
I purchased some things so far but was wondering if there are any other suggestions that should be done to make an already great looking and from your guys posts great driving car. The motor and everything is untouched but my modifications so far from Ramspeed are headers (shorty) full cat back exhaust with valve for quite operation as need be European ecu tune ,cf air box with twin air filters, cf rear spoiler ( just a small one ) black series full body kit as well as fenders and side skirts in cf and a cf hood. The car starts but I have never driven it it was driven on to the flat bed that picked it up but has not been startted since . I will include some pictures of the car and my toy the m3 I miss . If anyone has sugestions on aftermarket rads, headlights or sugestions that would be great Thanks in advance

Thanks for the input. I had a zex kit on a previous car many years ago ( Prelude ) might be a good way to go. Thanks

You can do a wide range of modifications to your C63 507 such as under the hood tuning from RENNtech such as a carbon fiber air box and or there performance packages from r1, r2 or r3 which depending on tune level add ECU upgrades, throttle body upgrade, aswell upgrades to the transmission etc. You could also add an exhaust such as IPE or Brabus. for a bodykit that is your choice, however you could add carbon fiber hood vents and other bits and pieces to the car like a carbon front spliter and deck lid spoiler.

In my personal opinion you should restore the car to stock, using MB parts before adding any other modifications. if any mods are done to keep them easy to reverse when selling the car if the future owner doesn't want the mods.

Thanks nandra This is the stage || I believe modification I have coming. just wasn't sure if there is anything I'm overlooking . I have the larger air box and headers exhaust to go with this setup as well as an ecu tune. Thanks for your help

Hi realjones 88 Yes its about 10 grand. The headlights are the most expensive and the rest is just small stuff. The hood for the 507 was hard to find and more then a carbon fibre one so I am going the carbon route
Thanks

Are you sure the frame isn't bent? It looks damaged to me, from your first photo.
I would focus on repairing the car back to stock first, not on mods at this stage!

Shorty headers, renntech mods, and stuff from brabus. Yeah no. Seriously though. This stuff has been covered to dead and no offense, but almost no one on these forums has any of that stuff suggested by nandra and for good reason. Search. It's even a giant sticky at the top of the C63 section.

You are probably looking at $8-10K in repairs alone. And that's if the frame is not bent.
I was quoted almost $2K just to replace my A/C condenser - and it was just nicked by a stone. You're going to need that, a rad, oil coolers, trans cooler, steering cooler, bumper, etc.

Not trying to be a downer... hope the car was basically free.

2k for AC?! I had mine done independent tech for 1100, that is with the unit and labor.

Isn't Canada more expensive right now though?

Surge 01-04-2017 03:02 PM

Yup, our Canadian $ is about 65 cents to a US dollar.
The condenser alone is $800 Canadian, and that's if ordering from a US online site. (I go to the US often and can get it shipped there).

So add 2-3 hours of labor, 13% sales tax and you're still at about $1500 Cdn, or about $1100 USD... so yeah, about what you paid C Sexy 3.

Would like to DIY, but don't think it's for me. Plus, you have to recharge the system and add some compressor lubricant.

Oops my bad didn't notice that haha.

Anyone who bought the C63 507 new in Canada has the last laugh though...
The cars were a full $20K LESS in Canada, not even considering the exchange rate... even less expensive if you took that into account.

Adi-Benz 01-04-2017 04:05 PM

that's why you wait and buy the Alfa Romeo Guilia Quad with canadian spec-manual for cheaper and import it to the US*

Surge 01-04-2017 04:10 PM

absolutely! Or just about any car now. For example a 2016 C63S Coupe is US$64,500 in Canada.

How much does it cost to import one to the US ??

Surge 01-04-2017 05:37 PM

It doesn't cost any more than a few hundred for US customs forms and paperwork. There is free trade between Canada and the US.
Depending on your state or federal rules, you may have to pay duty because it's made in Germany (note that the C class sedans are made in the USA, including the C63... so no duty for these).

I wonder how hard it would be to get a bank to finance a car from Canada ?

Surge 01-04-2017 05:47 PM

It should not be any different than getting a bank to finance a car bought in the US. You just give them the VIN # - they don't need to know where the car was purchased. They all come from the same factory :)

Also, the warranty is completely valid. Do not believe any dealer that tells you otherwise. The simple story is that you moved from Canada to the US, and brought the car with you. This happens ALL the time. If you want to be sure, call MB USA (not a dealer), and tell them you are moving from Canada to the USA and is the warranty valid. They will say it is.
