I have someone who can reprogram my new ecu. Do both ecu's need to be numbers matching (the big numbers written on the ect eg A156 etc etc)
Or can I use any m156 and re code it?

This was extremely helpful for me and I found the ecu I was seeking through that site.

For those that are curious, yes you can clone ecu's, how ever some have different operating systems and will have minor glitches if the software doesn't match your car. I posted a pic of ecu's with different part numbers that have the same operating software as my ecu. If your looking at purchasing a second ecu, check with your local mb dealer what ecu part numbers match yours to ensure it has the same operating system as yours.
