C63 507 sedan opinions
Hey guys I have had my eye on this black 14' 507 sedan for about a month now. Car is super clean 27k miles and the dealer wants 52,750 which is just below NADA retail it seems. They will not budge on the price so I wanted to get some options from you guys. Do you think it's is worth what the dealer is asking? I found one other 507 sedan and it is basically the same price. I know sometimes NADA value and actual market value on a vehicle can differ quite a bit. I'm looking to put a deposit on it in the next few days so they will hold it until I get back from Afghanistan. What do you guys think? Thanks in advance!

My only opinion is not to let jordanaf anywhere near it or it will soon be worth a lot less

The 507 sedans are harder to negotiate since they are of limited supply with 1 year production. Other than the interior tweaks, vented hood, and forged wheels they're very similar to P31 sedans performance wise. Unless you're modding the P31, the 507 makes a more attractive package.
$52k sounds fair considering these cars were mid to high $80k when new.

Agreed with the others that it seems fair for 507. As an alternative, you could probably get a P31 for about $10K less. I paid $41K for a super clean 2013 P31 w/ LSD with 40K miles a few months ago in Nov'16. I probably overpaid for mine a little but it was heavily optioned and in great shape so I didn't negotiate super hard.
Put the extra $$ in your pocket or spend it on mods! Could get a nice set of HRE wheels with the price differential.

As one Vet to another.. Thank you for your service. Safe travels and what an awesome present to come home to. As others have said you could probably get a P31 for around 10k less. I just bought a 13' P31 with designo leather, carbon fiber, and LSD with 36k miles and paid 41.5k You could add a tune from Eurocharged for under 1k and have more HP and TQ than the 507.. you would not have the same wheels or hood but those things are just cosmetic... you could mod and have money left over with the P31.

Thanks!
Hey guys thanks for all of the input, I have been looking at P31's as well but almost everyone I find has way more miles and is missing an option that I want. I'm going to see if I can get this dealer to take 50k even for this one as that is really the most I want to spend. Also with this being a 14' and only 27k miles it should be under factory warranty until sometime in 18' correct? Just curious because it seems a warranty is a must on these cars and if I buy a 13' that will be an additional cost I will need to factor in as well. I will probably throw a tune at this one soon after purchase as well because I can't leave anything stock for long haha 👍

It will depend...Mine is also a '14, but the in service date was Aug '13 so the standard warranty would expire on that date in '17. In my case however, it is a CPO car, so I have another year added to that. Point is, check the in-service date for the actual warranty expiration and if this is a MB dealer, see if it can be CPO'd.

Ok guys I was able to get them to drop the price a bit. Not as low as I wanted but found some middle ground. I'm going to drop a deposit on it and pick it up when I get back to the states in a month. Here is a link to the listing if anyone wants to give it a peek. http://www.selectluxury.com/VDP-2014-mercedes-benz-c-class-c63-amg-c-1413.htm

Deal.
Well the dealer backed out on their agreement to hold the vehicle for a month with a deposit. Insisted that I go ahead and pay for it now and then pick it up when I get back. I told them I'm not paying for a 50k car sight unseen and if it does not sell I will purchase it when I return, if it checks out. Hopefully they will still have it but if not I'll find another. Thanks guys!

That sucks to hear, sorry.
There's a 507 Sedan serial-killer on this forum who will likely take that car for a test drive and crash it before you return. I'd remove the link above so he can't track down where it's at....

That guy
Yeah I heard about that guy hahaha. Well if he does that serves the dealer right for backing out on holding the car for me. They just went from a guaranteed sale to a possible sale. Guess we will see what happens.

Mine is a 13" and still under factory warranty until may and then I have a 1 year CPO on top of that.. I was also quoted and additional 2 years of CPO coverage for $1845..

Hey man, I totally agree with you that it's really s**tty that they did that, especially to someone serving our country overseas. Just an fyi tho, you are not obligated to purchase a car if you put down a deposit and not only that but if you decide that you do not want to purchase the car a dealership is obligated legally to refund your deposit. So from their perspective it's not necessarily a 'guaranteed sale'. Anyway, thanks for your service man and have fun finding exactly what you want when you get back!

This is the same dealer I bought my 507 coupe from last month. GREAT DEALER. I would certainly do business again.
I bought the car sight unseen and had it shipped to me in a enclosed trailer. They will overnight you the documents to sign and give you a return envelope to mail everything back including the certified check.
If the car is still under warranty, (which it will be until 2018) I really wouldn't be worried about buying the car. The dealer has fantastic reviews and only deals with high end cars. If this is the type of car you want, I would think you would have test drove similar vehicles to see if you like it.
If you reconsider buying the car, I can have a friend run the vin through Mercedes to check the VMI (vehicle master inquiry) and it will give you a list of all the maintenance done on the vehicle (as long as it was done a benz dealership). My buddy did that for me and it was free and clear. That sealed the deal for me

This particular dealer puts this disclaimer on the deposit form...
"
Bysigning below I am authorizing Select Luxury Cars to charge the given cardnumber above in the amount of $1,000.00 to take the vehicle off the market andplace it into pending sale status under my name. I understand in the event thatthe transaction is not completed Select Luxury Cars will retain the $1,000.00as a restocking fee for the vehicle; the $1,000.00 partial payment will bededucted from the final purchase price of the vehicle when the transaction iscomplete.

Yeah I understand that they have good reviews I researched them. However I am in Afghanistan so shipping on that car might be a tad much. They don't want to hold the car for me even with a deposit. If it is still available when I get back I will go pick it up but if not I'm sure I can find another. I'm not in a rush to buy a car I've never even driven.

BTW, I really wanted a 507 sedan but couldn't find one that I liked. I would have definitely bought this car if I didn't already have the coupe lol
Full leather, LSD and parktronic. LSD and parktronic are 2 things I wished I had.
For reference, the '14 507 I bought from them had 14k miles with a list price of 55,000. We came to an agreement at 52,000
