rusted screws from airbox lid

As an aside, they did update the part number sometime in the past couple of years. The new ones are black oxide coated and won't rust. So someone somewhere noticed what you did. I think they're like $0.25 each. I got them just because they were black, not because I felt the OE ones were faulty in any way.
i guess i wouldn't have been too concerned if they all came out in 1 piece but 1 of them broke while i was unscrewing it due to the rust... so it's stuck inside the part that the lid sits on... i've been driving around with 9 out of 10 screws and it seems just fine but it's just annoying...

I thought they were cheaper than that. Have you tried plugging the part # in at oediscountparts.com? I'm sure that part number is on a thread here somewhere.....

i knew if i searched online i could find it cheaper but i couldn't wait because i needed the car... i wasn't expecting to be "screwed" after removing the lids...
