My C63 introduction - warp mode enabled
Took the plunge into the best C63 I've seen and test driven so far. Settled on a 2009 C63 AMG Sedan. Super clean 88k 2nd owner bought from his boss out of a lease. Accountants. Dealer maintained and most recently a reputable Mercedes Benz privately owned shop (Dynamic Performance of Manhattan Beach). California car mainly used to commute on the 405 to the valley. Got a ton of recent maintenance and the full inspection went flawless - car literally needs nothing.
Anyways, I'll stop blabbering, but it was a good purchase. This car is amazing and goes into warp speed so quickly, and my throttle isn't even down all the way. Scary what a tune would do to this thing, my god.
Little bit about me (Steve): 27 year old male hailing from Saratoga, CA but now live in Playa Del Rey, CA. Went to school at Unv. of Redlands. Currently getting my MBA in Finance. I work at Boeing Space Systems in El Segundo buying cool stuff that goes in space, and things I can't tell you about.
Can i get a few basic questions out of the way too?
1) What RPMS do you rest at idling?
2) What temperature do you typically rest at running?
3) Will this car help me find a hot wife?
4) Can it play music out of the phone Bluetooth? Or what is the best way to get an AUX? (I have a Samsung)
5) Why does this car make me smile?
6) Spacers on stock rims?
7) What kind of side skirts go for 300-400?
7) Any other tricks to the car I'll learn?
Thanks in advance hope to document more (with better photos) my journey with this car.

Congrats on the car! I can't comment on all of your questions off the top of my head but for sure buy a "tune2air" Bluetooth adapter if you have the iPod integration kit. Then you can play any device via BT via the iPod kit. If you don't have the kit but only the normal aux cable, you can get the blackberry Bt streaming module and do the same. The only difference IIRC is you won't get dash read outs for tracks if you aren't going through the iPod kit. Also, as I'm sure you know, headbolts are an issue on this year car. If they haven't been replaced already, it's not a bad idea to do them preemptively.

Congrats on the new car!
I can answer question 3 for you. Yes it can! My car was a big talking point between me and my wife when we first started dating.
This was before she started actually riding in it, now she complains about the bumpiness and my driving so more often than not we take her car......

Hey there SatelliteMan congratz on your purchase. We have similar jobs.. I work for the Air Force Research Laboratory in the Space Vehicles Directorate.. I'll try to answer some of your questions.
1) What RPMS do you rest at idling? - around 800 rpm
2) What temperature do you typically rest at running? close to 90C
3) Will this car help me find a hot wife? Most definitely !!
4) Can it play music out of the phone Bluetooth? Or what is the best way to get an AUX? (I have a Samsung).. Not positive but I think 09's needed an adapter for android streaming.. do a search in the forums.
5) Why does this car make me smile? Its a Ferocious Monster that's why..
6) Spacers on stock rims? Yes many people use them.. send a pm to 604C63 Darryl is a great guy who knows lots about spacers and
other things he can definitely help you.
7) What kind of side skirts go for 300-400? No sure.. I like carbon fiber best but $$$
8) Any other tricks to the car I'll learn? Sure.. burnouts, powerslides, and many other things to put a smile on your face.. Eurocharged tune !! Long tube headers and remove cats and resonator.. ROW Airboxes and AFE filters.. Carbon Fiber everything !!!

1) Around 750-800 is normal.
2) Water or Oil temp? Water is pretty stable in my car, oil gets up as high as 212F in traffic on a hot day.
3) Dunno, I was already married when I bought mine.
4) I have the Tune2Air plugged into the ipod adapter and connected to my iPhone 6+. It works well but seems to have a mind of its own sometimes. It will sometimes start at the beginning of my list alphabetically. It will always want to set "random" and "repeat" to "on" until I manually change it on the phone. Next time in the car, it will set to "random" and "repeat" again. Sometimes it doesn't pick up the BT at all and I have to turn BT of and on again on the phone. Recently it started messing up on the display on the dashboard. Don't expect it to display on the COMMAND screen, that doesn't work on 2009s apparently.
5) Because it smokes tires, drinks gas, and chews up brakes in a never ending quest to tempt you to hammer the throttle and never let off.
6) Never tried it
7) Never had interest to do that
7) Read the FAQ about alignment and tire wear. Put together a consumables budget for gas and tires. Also, don't use those wash places. The brushes will give you nasty swirl marks on that black paint.
Cheers!

Welcome and congrats!
3) Will this car help me find a hot wife? Will get you more guy attention then female.
5) Why does this car make me smile? The sound and the confused looks on peoples face trying to figure out where the sound is coming from. I've had people stand next to my car while I rev'd....have them look all around...then ask me if it was my car making that crazy noise....yes people are stupid as well lol.

Welcome!
6.) 12mm-15mm front and 10mm rear. H&R make good spacers. Get longer lug bolts. Stock length is 27mm. Don't go any longer than 27mm + spacer thickness on the rear or the lug bolts will interfere with the parking brake shoes and retaining hardware. You will hear a ticking if the bolts are too long so test before you drive.
