2013 C63 NOT STARTED IN 8 MONTHS -- Tow or drive?

Two reasons.
One, OLD batteries that are dead might have developed a dead short and can blow on the application of high voltage and you can get injured and acid goes everywhere. (That was not a fun time. Trust me.) We don't know how old the battery is.
Secondly, I am thinking about surges and electronics. The car may be shut off but stuff still has a load factor..
I would get the battery load tested if it starts and runs.
8 months is not that long.
Here's what you do... start it up (jump it if you have to), let it idle for a couple minutes so the oil can circulate, drive it to a gas station and throw some premium in it then drive it to the dealership and get all recommended service performed. After that, drive it like you stole it. Done.
When I rescued an E500, it had sat unstarted in a field for 3+ yrs. I started it up, the suspension filled itself up, drove it around the block and up on a trailer to bring it home. Drove it for a couple days after that to loosen up any crap in there. She purred like a kitten and then got a fresh oil change. I then proceeded to give it hell for 6 months without an issue.
This car is unreal...
The gas tank is pretty low, which I think is a good sign... right? Because the old impotent gas can be mixed with a large quantity of high octane gas?
I'm gonna let her run for fifteen minutes before I pull out of the garage...
There is a gas station a few blocks away so I will fill her up with ninety three and then cruise around at low speeds for awhile.
I hope tomorrow morning she will start up again just fine and then I have a service scheduled for mid morning.
I hope this is the right thing to do...
I have personally seen cars not started for 6 months, starting right up.
With the oil, it is old and high mileage oil, although you could drive it to the dealership, I would change the oil myself in the garage.
I have heard of engines seized, not in our cars, but in case of really really cheap people that lease cars and refuse to change the oil hoping that they could get away without an oil change for the duration of the lease.
I believe it seized around less than 20 K miles.

So if you have it towed to the dealer, will they do anything special? They'll probably just start it...
His gas tank isn't going to be full of water. He's going to be fine. Hell, I've had my C63 sit for 4 months without starting it and it hasn't blown up yet. Get in, press the button, go.
You guys are going way overboard with this. It's a modern car with a well-sealed fuel tank and system. It's not a spaceship.
Start the car, if less than 1/4 tank... top off with fresh 93.
Until this tank is burned off.... I would not do any Wide Open Throttle runs.... or drag runs... or track days..... just drive normal...... and use up this old(er) fuel. You should be fine.
If for some reason it won't start and gas has gone bad already....... you'll know when you start the car and try to drive it. Really only one way to find out...... turn the key. I've tried to use old gas in a jet ski.... it would mis-fire, was hard to start..... and to be honest cutting the bad fuel with good fuel just made a bigger batch of bad fuel
lOL.I'm guessing you'll be fine..... I would just avoid beating on the car with old fuel if you can avoid it. GL .
..... I was thinking in my mind smart azzz remarks... like... it is a total loss and you should just part it out now..... but I refrained..... (or did I?)...

Before I drive cross country next week, I will cycle thru this entire tank of gas...
Gonna pick up the car tomorrow, could be some flatspotting but I already tireracked the 245/265 PSS to a local shop to install on Mon or Tues

Got new battery and charged both fobs and everything looked good...
Gonna get new brakes -- Porterfield -- in June
Once I blow thru this tank, I can drive the car the way it is meant to be driven
Tomorrow I get new shoes, the PSS 245/265
Thanks to everyone for their suggestions!
I'm in the same situation, had to leave the country in a hurry for 7 months...
My C63 507 has been parked indoors the whole time.
I'm in LA so weather isn't an issue I think.
The battery seems dead since key buttons didn't work, what is my next step?
I'm really afraid of something going wrong with the gas!
Probably a 1/4 tank in there, what should I do?

You guys are scaring the OP for no reason. People do this all the time.
Start it and keep you foot off the throttle, let it warm up and take it to get the oil and fliter changed. It will be totaly fine. As BLKROCT noted people do this all the time including nearly every guy you see on TV including Wayne Carini on cars stored not for months but decades.
