I get really pee'd when people do not pay attention to ALL SPECs when buying wheels. Besides the width, diameter and lip pattern there is this little significant detail called offset. This is a measure from the center line of the wheel to the backside of the hub.
Mercedes spends a fortune on manual writing and printing. Your S class at over 700 pages is huge but it does serve a purpose.
If you had looked in your manual around page 655 ( if you don't have a manual a PDF version is available from MBUSA online) you would have seen the wheel sizes for your car and they all say ET43. It took me less than 90 sec to download and look it up.
You car stock wheels are 8.5J x18 ET43s. ET is the offset. That means from the backside of the hub to the centre line of the wheel there is 43 mm. This is called positive offset.
There are numerous websites to compare wheels to ones you might want to buy. You can increase offset within limits but you can get suspension interference if you go too far without spacers. You can decrease the offset as long as you use a spacers otherwise the wheel clamps to the caliper.
What you have done is bought wheels with lower offset so the rim clamps down on the caliper. Makes for a great parking brake on hills but it is a ***** to drive.
What you have to do is go find something on the Asanti wheels that tells you what the offset is. It will likely be on a spoke or on the back of the hub. When you find it - it will be under 43 - then subtract what the actual offset is from 43 and that will tell you what thickness of spacer you need.
If it is 38 you need at least a 5mm spacer but you have to know what your starting point is.
Next time read the manual before buying wheels and tires and use the tools on line to compare even if you are buying used. It will save you from doing something like this in future.
By the way this is the W204 C63 forum. You want the W221 forum.

Wrong. He said he has an S550 and these are 22 inch rims. That means he needs the 4 inch/6cfm spacer.

I hope you read this article, titled "For the love of God, don't ever buy a 2007 Mercedes Benz S550".

Joking aside, then look at this: https://mbworld.org/forums/s-class-w221/382617-these-22s-right-tire-offset-s550.html

Unless:

1. You tell us what the offset and width of your OE wheels are
2. What the offset and width of your new wheels are
3. You use the Search function
4. You post in the appropriate area

You're not likely to get the help you need.

I think I gave him enough to work with. He has to do some of the work for crying out loud as penance for not checking everything before he put his cash down.
