headlight adjustment

Can anyone with a service manual provide the details (if any) on the procedure for adjusting the vertical height of the HID beam cutoff?

Im not asking about the little hex screw that is actually used to make the adjustment. Ive seen service manuals for other cars to position the car XX amount of feet away from a wall, turn the headlights on and raise/lower the beam cutoff to certain height.

I would like to know what MB suggests for height/distance and I can go from there. Im not trying to blind oncoming cars but these headlights could certainly use a little bump in height. Especially since the high beams are incredibly good and provide excellent distance

if you have factory bi-xenon then you have auto-leveling which ensures that they are correct every time the engine actually runs(wont auto-level in key pos2 without cranking the engine)....if you want them to be a little bit higher then position your car square to a wall about 25' in front of you...WITH THE ENGINE RUNNING use the white adjusters found by looking straight down behind the headlight lens...adjust one side until it is where you like it, then adjust the other side to match the cutoff(walk up to the wall with a piece of electrical tape or sticky note etc and mark the NEW position of the top line of your cutoff, this is for later) now turn the engine off, remove key, close driver door from the outside....now open driver door, get in, close door and crank vehicle...at this point you should see the headlights auto-level as normal BUT they should now be set to match the new position you adjusted them to and line themselves back up with the electrical tape/sticky note/etc on the wall

^That's a good way to go about it. Im sure the cutoff is set to the correct level (even though I replaced the oem Phillips bulbs with osram cbi's instead) but I'd like to have the low beam extend possibly another 10-15 feet on the road ahead of me without blinding oncoming traffic. Guess Ill have to make so small adjustments and see if traffic starts to flash me
