The Positive C63 Thread. (a test of sorts)

2009 SLK55 AMG. & 2022 GLA250 4Matic
1. My oldest peering around the seat saying "Dad, you're speeding." And then the youngest replying "Yes, and go faster!"
2. Having the little gas pump light up after just 160 miles. And what a fun 160 miles they were!
3. I back into the same spot in our underground garage at work every day. My commute home has a tendency to not be awesome, being Boston and all, but that cold start after the full work day totally resets my brain.
4. All four windows down agressive downshifts in M as I'm approaching a light. No really, I'm a grown up. Seriously.
5. Snow + snow tires + this car with an LSD quite literally makes me giggle. It is an exercise in restraint, but totally worth it and great for car control practice (or so I tell myself).
6. The lookback I do pretty much ever time I park it (usually in the farthest spot available). I've had a few fun cars in my day, but none have had me looking back for years.
7. The driving position is just right. The seats are ludicrous, the wheel can get nice and high and close, the Alcantara on the sides of the wheel, the paddles and the pedals. So good.

Re: #2. Gas is cheaper than single malts.
Re:#3 I have a friend whose daily driver is a Land Rover. He gets the kids to bed and goes and sits in his with it idling with the odd toe wiggle here and there for the same purpose. Totally normal.

Re:#5 Hopefully you were smarter than me and have decent winters. We don't get much snow here on the lower part of BC but it is wet and forms ice. My wheels would start to spin ESP or not in idle on this crap. I am giving them to my kid to run on his Kia Soul as summers. He will get 2 yr out of them. Nokian Hakkapeliitta 9s will be one it next winter.
Re: #6 At my age I wish the car had super powers and could take me back to when I was 35 and not just able to drive its *** off. I can manage that but other stuff.....?

3) This car is an epic long distance vehicle, nothing beats that feeling of being on the open road in a C63, just effortless, relentless power & speed

The cold start echo is pretty loud coming out of that corner.

The other time that stood out to me was when an older lady asked me if that was my car when I was at the local dealer. I said yes, and she said "damn, that's a good looking car!". Lol, I honestly thought the car was low key myself without the aerodynamics package, but I guess not.
3) Pulled into the parking lot on a Saturday morning to pick up a friend from the Dallas Cars & Coffee. I drove away from the show when I pulled in to avoid attention, but a group of photographers saw and started running over. My buddy texted me and was said there was a crowd rushing towards me. I told him he better beat them to the car before we get blocked in! Made some small talk with a couple of them and they mentioned they had never seen one in the area before, etc. Boy, it was a funny sight seeing that crowd rush over.
I'm sure there will be other times in the future, but these are the first that come to mind. Anyways, enjoying this much more than the Gran Turismo MC.[/QUOTE
