Should i buy it
hello guys, so the story is my brother's girlfriend is selling her 2009 C63 with 90k miles. She said shes only selling it for how much she owed the car in the bank. She still owe the car $22,900. She said she took all the service done at MB in chino hills and she can show me all the papers too. Is this a good buy? Btw we are in california

That's a bad deal IMO. It's not worth the headache to buy a 90k mile 8 year car, even if the upfront cost is low. And 23k is not even cheap considering these 09 cars are nearly 10 years old. A '12 with 50k can probably be had in your area for 30-40. You're better off for the next 2-5 years buying a newer one for more $$

Check to see if the headbolts were taken care of first. Get a carfax. Get all the paperwork and check it out. Just because she is your brothers g/f doesn't mean that you should drop common sense and just accept that the car is in great condition.

Ok thanks as well for this input. I am aware of the head bolt issues on 08-11s. Im going to check all the service paper she will provide and run a carfax as well. But if the head bolts are done and services are all true then is 23k worth for the price?

A couple of months ago there were some really nice PFL C63s that were in the high teens and low 20s. I think one may have been $18-19k. I'd say there are better deals

She wont budge on the price as i have said earlier she just wants me to pay off the remaining balance of her loan as the deal. I will let you guys know the service records soon and see from there.

thats what i have noticed too. When i look on cars.com and other online used cars within my area they run around 26-30k for 90k miles. But the kbb said is 18-23k from fair to excellent condition thru private party selling.

I paid 20K from a dealership for my 2009 with 102K on the clock.
Just saying...
Headbolts had NOT been done (I'm ordering them this week).
Car is in great shape though. I'm very satisfied and that's what counts. I view it like technology (phones in particular) - if you are comparing stats and price, you can never wait long enough... the stats will keep getting better on the new ones while the price keeps getting lower on the existing ones.
