Seat back bolster wear.

Seat back bolster wear.
Over the many cars I have with leather seats, the outer side bolsters of the driver seat particularly and the passenger seat take a beating and these cars are a tad worse because of the deep bolsters. This manifests itself as fine cracks and wear marks which show white.
Thus occurs because MB uses a coated vs. fully tanned leather.
I have the red and black interior and wondered if anyone has dealt with thus short of getting the seat res prayed. Any rib on creams similar to shoe polish?
My build card indicates option X50 which is Designo Leather and X83 which defines red and black.
The second question is what is the colour code for the red?
Right now cleaning and treating the leather hides it but eventually ...?
My W212 had Artico which is a poly urethane coating not PVC like MB-Tex and it was amazing. A tad stiff when new but became as supple as leather over time and of course the colour went all the way through.

The problem with a colored cream like Meltonian or something like shoe wax, is that it will come off on your clothes over time. Sounds like you need a permanent dye. This is a serious question - have you tried hitting a crack with a Sharpie in an inconspicuous area?

What about the Leatherique restoration dye? Will it not work because of the coating? I know you have black and red, so you'd have to be very careful, but I'd think it still possible.

If I can get some pigment into the fine cracks it will stain the light grey core leather they use underneath the coating and hide them. If it is something like a wax based cream I am reasonable sure I can work it down into the crack and then clean the surface so I don't end up with it on my cloths. A dye would be best but the colour has to be correct or even slightly lighter otherwise the fine cracks will show as darker lines.
A red Sharpie might work.
First step it to pin down the red colour.
Thanks guys.

MB has a number of colours used in 2013 for reds two of which look close on a screen but I don't want to guess.
I have contact at MBC I have reached out to for the info.

No, I have not done the red on my Merc as it only had solid black, but I have used it on my bolsters and black/black it is awesome
Now in the past I have used different Rit colors for for colored leather interiors and there is certainly enough variety to color-match.....

IF you have the X50 Designo Two Tone Option on your build card and the X83 Option which is red and black the red colour is X17 Classic Red. According to MBC, there should be a restoration kit available from the dealers. I assume but cannot confirm the red in the couples with the solid red seats in the same but from what I have seen it is a good bet.
