This is my third belt now. It's the gates green belt, seems to work good. I park the car for winter, 6 months. I'm going to take the belt off the blower to reduce the stretch in the future.
Anthony is the best when it comes to Weistec always happy to help

Im glad it was only minor mate now get back out to the track

i only run 60mm on my race tune with straight ms109 makes 100whp extra but my street tune is very safe

Fuel system is maxed with 60mm tune 700whp engine can take it no problems just needs to be tuned

m156 cast pistons and rods can take 750w if you have enough fuel to supply

With green belt my car with 67 peaks 11.5 psi with 60mm i have seen 15psi

So you ran the 60mm with the stock cast internals?? I don't make the same psi because I'm at elevation... do you have a specific tune for the 60mm? The tune should adapt to the increased air Steve said.

yes i did Yeah we went down this route last time you should move to AUS

I run 2 ecus 1 for 67mm 1 for 60mm

Im not sure if i trust it to adapt it might but im to scared to test
Give it a shot and see what happens just go easy and let it adapt slowly

If i was gonna do that i would do it on dyno

Or run meth

I might make the change to straight e85 but need to change whole fuel system and then can run 60mm every day even a 57mm will work

At two inches of stretch, I think it moves from belt slip to the wrong sized belt! haha I'm surprised you had that much stretch and didn't notice earlier. Sometimes I'm glad to be wrong and this is one of them.

Glad you figured it out. Gates makes great belts. It's what I ran on my Lightning. Never had an issue running more than a bar of boost.

Semi-related note, I'm really surprised that you boosted guys don't run gauges. If you had a boost/vac gauge, you would have seen this way earlier and known you were losing boost up top. Same goes for a wb02. Considering the money spent on supercharging, is there a reason why you aren't?

I have a boost gauge, its tucked away under the hood since I verified boost, I didn't really look at it much. Its now zip tied onto the wiper blade lol.

My old green gates belt, I never had a problem with it losing power. The belt that stretched is a weistec belt. Im thinking its more stretchable to put less stress on the pulleys? Ive put a new green gates belt on, they are available locally at NAPA.

The green belt is tighter, I could barely get it around the blower pulley.

I never noticed any power loss because Ive been running all seasons on the rear tires, it spins like crazy and I haven't been racing or anything lately so at 5-6 psi it felt normal to me. It wasn't till I went to the track that I noticed it down on power. There was no signs of belt slip either, no dust or anything. It would just not spin the blower at high rpm to make peak boost, the mid range and low end was unaffected.

I thought you did a built forged engine?? Can't you run the 60mm everyday with that engine??

Can the stock fuel system supply enough fuel for the 60mm?

Whats your current setup now, Im outta the loop

nah nah

No built engine stock cast pistons and heads with ARP head bolt with 60mm MS109 custom intakes and meth car makes 515wkw 700whp weistec injectors stock fuel lines and pumps fuel system is maxed ran 9.95 on that setup 141mph

on the street 67mm pump 98 car makes 440wkw 600whp 10.5 135mph best time very safe tune can lean on it more but no point

we built a engine for another car on straight e85 stock heads makes 750whp with more coming soon full fuel system an10 hard lines aeromotive pumps 1050x injectors etc etc not timed on QTR mile yet

Ohhh, I was looking at your pics seen a built engine, thought you went all out. Damn, im going to throw on that 60 pulley and let her buck. What boost do you see with the 67mm and 60mm? I am 9-10psi with the 67mm.

What are you using for meth controller, does the tune need to be adjusted? Did you do runs without it, results?

67 between 10-11.5 60 13-15

I use the meth for IATs only I have run with and without with slight difference ion boost pressures but I see cooler charge and better seal on blower with meth better seal more boost

Makes sense. I forget that not everyone has year around summer. Now move that boost gauge inside where it belongs.
