722.9 AMS/EXEDY clutch pack upgrade
#51
On FBO you have nothing to worry about.
My valve body is stock. I’m running a weistec pan and additional trans cooler
I was FBO with headers and 75 shot on my first c63 up too 70k miles original clutch packs. I never did burnouts or launches. That’s what abuses the clutch packs...

That trans cooler is interesting now that you mention it -is that an additional OEM cooler or aftermarket? Can you share part #s/any info on that upgrade?
with these AMS clutches and cooler would you say there is a noticeable shift difference under hard driving or did you do it this all just for more peace of mind? I notice no way to check trans temps on these cars, is there an aftermarket solution/OEM “hack/hidden menu” to monitor temps?

BLKRKT can be a total douche (probably lacking of sex indeed), but I'm on his side now.. The thread topic points everywhere BUT Weistec, bro.
No offense though.
Great thread by the way! Nice to see some options for Merc's other then RENNtech, Weistec, and the other big guys on the market. Not that they're bad products, but it's always nice to see someone else looking to the AMG V8's.

Not yet. Car sat for 4 months at an unnamed SoCal shop allegedly waiting to have them put in, but the car was never touched (and car came back filthy and with paint damage). Took the car back. Will figure it out later this year, I’m having a hell of a time finding anyone competent or respectful of time enough to do it.

nice. I feel like that seems to happen quite frequently in the car repair industry. Sadly I think when it does, you guys should be throwing them under the bus rather than being the bigger man and not bad mouthing them. People need to know as they are consistently getting screwed over by the same people over and over. Being in Cali, you should have plenty of worth shops to choose from.
