Yeah that's internet BS and crowd mentality at it's finest. There are literally hundreds of brake options out there. You can get nice quality Centric, Brembo, or other non-OEM parts that are very good for a reasonable price. Or you can buy real garbage for cheap. If you can't figure out the difference and think only buying OEM from a dealer is acceptable, that's what works for you and it will certainly keep your car working like new, and you keep me employed so I'm thankful.

The truth is I bought a set of Centic carbon ceramic breakes and did a review of them and the self appointed experts said I would crash and burn because they did not cost 350-500 a set. They are quality brakes with great stopping power that I find superior to the factory set in both stopping power and no dust. The centric's are $100 a set which are defiantly not the cheapest but I find as good value for the money. That is the short and sweet of it..

Personally I do not trust tyre reviews.
I have only had bad experiences with Continental tyres, and only read good things about them.
I am not a fan of budget tyres, but have had some good experiences with them.
By budget, I am talking about the likes of Toyo, Yokohamas, Kuhmo and Hankook (not so budget anymore).

I had the older ExtremeContact DWs on my STI, and they weren't hockey pucks. Compared to a set of Dunlop Star Specs, then the fastest tire for autocross, they were better in the wet, more comfortable and quieter. Dry performance may have been a bit lower, but you wouldn't notice street driving.

Here are some actual objective test results:

For the price, the Continentals are a pretty good tire. Not quite as good as the Michelins, but they do have better wet performance than the Michelins.

But yes, they for sure are better in the wet, more comfortable, and quieter.

Oh my, yes yes yes you would notice the difference on the road. DWS side walls literally fold when taking an onramp quickly. A few years I go, I ran DWS's back to back with Yoko S-Drives (Crap), and the Yoko's felt amazing.
But yes, they for sure are better in the wet, more comfortable, and quieter.
