Im experiencing the same issue. I had a 2011 with V5 tune and it ran throughout the power band flawlessly. I just bought a 2015 507 Edition and the first thing I did was buy Eurocharged's V7 tune for the 507. My thought was that just being the 507 with a tune would be a noticeably different compared to the standard C63 with the V5 tune. But I'm not so sure. I'm going to the track with it this weekend and I will have some lap times to compare it to and will keep you guys informed.

Also, my 2011 will be available shortly. I need two AMG's like a hole in the head.

I agree things in Texas look bad. I'm from Charleston and understand hurricanes, but that one looks pretty serious.

507 is pretty well tuned form the factory and all the C63's once tuned get to about the same power, so your 507 won't really pickup much power with a tune compared to your normal C63 and they should feel basically the same power wise tuned. Not saying you don't have an issue with the tune, but don't expect to feel a big difference on a 507.

I have an 08 base c63, bone stock. Got the v7 beta tune and car is a beast. Pulls hard til redline and shifts awesome. Not sure why there would be varying results with the same tune file

Did anyone else have any issues after updating your handheld? I had not updated it since V6 came out. Plugged it into the computer and ran all the updates and it wiped out all the tunes including the original file. It would not let me upload new tunes to it until I plugged it back into the car for it to grab the VIN. I was able to get V5, V6 and V7 loaded onto the handheld but it will not allow the original file to be loaded, fpf file. I sent an email to Jerry and I know he has a lot going on right now with the hurricane and its not a pressing issue for me. Just curious if anyone else has had this problem.

Mine did this, it did all the updates and wiped itself, I had to re-read the car again to be able to load the tunes, then could load them all back on and flash the car.

Not sure how you put the original file back on the handheld, never tried that part but searching around, I saw a thread that indicated the original tune is embedded in the file you get back to write to the car and when you choose to write back to stock, it just pulls that from the file and doesn't actually write back the fpf file you originally pulled, but I just read that, I have not tried it.

I have also had no issues with V7 and it is the best tune I have had on the car, V5 was good, V6 my car didn't love, shifted a bit funny and didn't feel very refined. V7 just feels like a more refined more powerful version of V5 on my car.

I wonder if the model year is the difference here?

What year are the cars with V7 and a problem? Versus those using V7 without problems?

2014 sedan, non P30/31. uploaded V7 last night and drove it 35 miles to work this morning. No issues at all with the tune. My car felt great on V6 too. No comment about the butt dyno since I dont daily this car as it always feels fast compared to my daily driver.

Just spoke to Jerry. The stock file is embedded in every tune.

Hey guys just here to report that after a few days of re loading the v6 tune back onto my car the cars down in power again !!

Does a battery disconnect/reset need to be preformed between updates and flashes? Im assuming since I went back to the v6 tune from the faulty v7 file I had it might need another reset if this is true or not id like more info if possible

thanks Alex.

Hi Alex,

I haven't notice this on mine, in fact aside from battery reset on V7 I have never done this when switching from V5 to stock, stock to V5 or V5 to V6.

What power issue are you suffering? Is it the same wall you hit at 4000rpm with the V7?

Try some basic checks

Just in the interest of narrowing the problems down... Could we get those affected to specify whether they have had their intake manifolds resealed? Cozy? Kevy? Amr? Anyone else having the issue?

It sounds like it may be the case... all you need to get is get the car NICE AND ***HOT*** then take a can of parts/brake cleaner and spray LIBERALLY around where the manifold meets the head. If you aren't handy like that, get a friend who is, or take it to a good shop.

TEST WILL BE DONE WITH THE AIRBOX INSTALLED

If the engine stumbles ***AT ALL*** during this test, your intake is leaking. Install the updated 159 gaskets and NEW bolts, to the proper spec and your problems will be gone!

Thanks

Dave

Does installing the V7 somehow make intake manifold gaskets go bad, and then switching back to V6 makes the gaskets ok again? That's so weird.

Hi Dave,

This is reference to the pre-2010 cars with the headbolt issues, right? I think all of us affected are post-2011 owners.

Like BLKROKT says, the issue is not apparent with V5 or V6, only V7 so I don't believe that this will be a hardware issue.

Maybe some people remove their IM to write the tune.

I swapped my manifold gaskets like 3 months ago , and mine was a 12 with the already 159 gaskets installed .. No problems with lean codes or idle issues !

Was waiting for the circus to get here ...

95% of the time it does not have any idle issues or lean codes.

This is not having to do with headbolts, but the intake manifold bolts. Because V7 changes cam timing, and velocity in the intake at certain times, it can certainly be affected by a leaking intake manifold.

I'm more interested to see if there are actual problems, and not just subjective "feelings" get it on a dyno and see if there is a power drop.

Check your intake. See if it's leaking.

Go eat a sneaker BLK, because you're a joke. Make sure to film it too please

Thanks

Is it not plausible that coincidently they went bad at the same time the flash was put on or shortly before. Could be. especially since the one guy flashed back to v6 which originally he had no problems with and still was down on power. Could have nothing to do with it, but it's an easy check why not. Speaking from experience when there bad you don't even know it. Fixed mine after the check and my car ran noticeably better and quicker.
