Is it worth it to upgrade to a C63?

Here we go with the planning years ahead... In 2 years you can get 2 c63's for $40k.
In 5 years I'm getting a McLaren, pretty cool, huh?
My suggestion, wait until you're actually ready to move cars and then come here with your questions. We'll have a better idea how the market looks at that time. And who cares what your friends think about a car when you're the one driving it? How did we go from a Panamera Turbo to an ML63 in the same line as though the compare?
You're all over the place.
+1 on a 996 turbo for bang for buck + looks, especially if you want a porsche. But it looks like you have a kid in the back seat and need 4 doors. You can get into an E63 with the 5.5 and smash basically everything on the road with light mods and have plenty of room for car seats.
Again, you are just all over the place with this and it doesn't even sound like you're making an actual decision any time soon.
Ha, just a motor upgrade. smh

Hey all,
I guess this thread was pointless lol, I didn't get a Panamera nor ML63. I had planned on waiting until next summer to get a C63s cause I was in love with the burble tunes, but after my C300 got totaled last month with my budget of 40k I figured I could get much more car than a C63s if I just got a CLS63. Well I got a 2014 CLS63 S AMG and it came with an FI catless valved cat-back exhaust and tuned to over 700BHP. The thing is a monster and sounds insane. Already put over 2k into it in spoilers, lips, missing emblems, springs, etc.

Nice W218 man, great choice! You can get some pretty insane power out of that M157! Definitely like the white and black too!
Sorry to hear about your C300. Hope everyone was OK.

Nice CLS! So I've heard not good things about that engine (5.5 turbo) though, can you give a first hand take on turbo lag and performance? Im no stranger to turbo lag, so it doesn't bother me at all.
Perfect color combo too.

Thanks guys! Everyone is ok.
@Ninja So I’ve never driven the 6.2L NA thus I’m not sure how the power delivery is compared to the W204 C63, but I’ll tell you that tuned, most of the car hesitation is gone. I like to drive it in manual mode after it warms up and I can tell you it is pretty much instant when getting on the throttle. Now the 7G is slow like all the old ones and you have to shift early to not bounce the limiter, but besides that it is a lot of car for the money. 2012 CLSes are down to clean C63 prices and are much faster stock and tuned.

2010 C300 4MATIC........ 2011 C63 AMG.............. 2015 CLS400 4MATIC.....
If the 5.5 wasnt good there wouldn't be people with C63's swapping them in 😂
Long time no see! Glad you're ok and still in a benzo. Unfortunate that the c300 got in an accident but I guess at least you didn't have to worry about trade in values :/
The CLS looks like a beast!

BMW 323i , 2008 c230 rwd Manuel stock, 2011 Whipple supercharger coyote c350
Coyote swap
So here is the deal... I have a C300 that is quite extensively modded...
In a year or two I would have liked to upgrade to a C63 with a budget of 40k, but my friends tell me that my car looks so good that is not worth it to get a stock C63 just for the engine. They say instead I could get something that looks way better for that money like a Porsche Panamera Turbo (I prefer the ML63).
What do you think? If I got the C63 I would get rid of the C300 and loose most of my investment (don't want two of the same car). If I got the Porsche in 1-2 years I would sell the C300, but if I wait a while longer say 2-3 years and pay off the C300, I could keep it as a beater and also get the Porsche.
What would you do if you were in this situation?

i know this whole thread was years ago but it fascinates me how much money people dump into vehicles to make them look like autozone exploded all over the body and owners of a c300 invest thousands upon thousands to get more power but never address suspension or braking.
