Check Engine Light P0420 P0430
Guys I need some help.
Today after driving my car my CEL came on and I went home to plug it in and found.
Trouble Codes:
P0420 Catalyst System Efficiency Below Threshold Bank1
P0430 Catalyst System Efficiency Below THreshold Bank 2
Pending Codes:
P0420 Catalyst System Efficiency Below Threshold Bank1
P0430 Catalyst System Efficiency Below THreshold Bank 2
My car has headers and midpipes I have no cats.
Are these the codes that are thrown when you install headers and cats?
I recently tuned my car but I can't clear the CEL because it says "DTC have not been met".
Thanks!
Jack

I have the same setup as you I think. I remember seeing one of your previous posts on here and you had the same problem as me. With headers/inspection stuff. Yeah I THINK those codes are thrown because you don't have cats. (Not 100% positive) When I got headers and mids they told me I would throw CEL so because of that I bought a tune from OE. It cleared my lights but I should've recorded what codes they threw before having the shop clear them.
Seems connected though, you don't cats because of your headers/midpipes and now you're throwing cat codes so its possible that.
And for the DTC have not met thing I don't know what to say. Maybe bring it to a shop and see if they can clear it (assuming the codes are thrown because of headers/cats/no tune) unless its really an issue then you gotta get that repaired! Goodluck!
