Skipping 1st gear & change tires

Hey guys,
So my observation is that when the car is in automatic, it would always skip the 1st gear. It'd go from 2nd gear directly. Is it normal?

and it's time for me to change my tires. The original tires that come with the car were summer tires (michelin super sports) and they were way too 'slippery'. The traction is so poor and they spin like mad when i try to accelerate. What tires do you guys recommend? I want 'sticky' tires (good traction).

Thanks!

If it's starting in 2nd then you are in comfort mode which is normal. I'm looking for a better tire as well have Michelin PSS as well and this tire normally has rave reviews, but not working well on my c63, incredibly unstable in rain and no tire tread life at all. I'm gonna be looking for more of an all season performance tire for mileage, mine doesn't go to the track often, it's my daily.

Yeah exactly man. it drifts in rain as well as on bone dry road when accelerating plus terrible tread life. I never track the car, only occasionally have a little fun on the road. it's only been 15k miles and the tread is almost all gone. Something please recommend some neat tires.

Do you have an LSD installed? That would help some as well.

If the Super Sports aren't sticky enough, you're looking at tires with even worse tread life, like DOT slicks.

Welcome to C63 ownership. This thing eats tires and drinks gasoline excessively. If I were you, I'd stick with the MPSS and utilize the mileage warranty for the subsequent set. It's arguably the best road summer tire.

PSS are an awesome tire....your rain/traction problem is your rear tires are bald.

What's the process like for claiming a new set with warranty? Does anyone here have personal experience to share?

agreed, the PSS is the best "compromise" out there.

15K miles? That is outstanding, good luck finding tires which last longer than that.
What are your expectations to get 30k miles out of the rear tires?
I get 8k miles out of my PSS and they are the best I have had so far. Dunlop's DZ 102 only lasted 5k and ventus V12 about 6k miles.
