I would disagree. Pulling out of my old neighborhood into traffic with the open diff my ESP would always kick in as the inside wheel went into the gutter and made it tricky to judge pulling out into traffic. you never knew when or how hard the ESP would kick in. with the wavetrac it stopped doing that. the car is much more confident and progressive and the LSD's effect can be felt more times than you think.

Here's a possible objective way to evaluate this:
In the non LSD cars, ESP has a lot of work to do. So then the rear brake pads wear faster than otherwise. I still think that the front pads should wear faster than the rear.
SO what's the situation with the rear brake pads in LSD cars? how long do they last?
In my car, I felt I had to change them around 49K miles, in order to pass state inspection, before the warning light came on. I estimate the warning light would have come on around 50 K miles. For the fronts, the warning came on at 52K miles.
What did the LSD cars do?

Pretty sure he was stating that the LSD in his P31 '13 is exactly what you just described....

I was disagreeing that you needed to be on the ragged edge to feel it and have it make a difference, which is not true at all.

I was surprised that LSD was not standard (optional). It's ~450Hp and RWD. It's pretty bad.
My 32 years old BMW (E30 320i) has LSD.
I'll look to buy one with LSD.

I just watched a video about it. A person drives c63 507hp wo led and normal c63 with LSD in the same curvy lap. The car without LSD is slower than CT4, and the car with LSD is faster than newest 718 cayman. None of those cars are modified or tuned. If you want a car for race, LSD is essential.

I like the predictability of the LSD in my C63. Less interference from the ESP, straight launches when you stomp it, smooth slides when you want to play. Just one less thing you have to worry about every day. Just yesterday I had to fire across a really dirty median to catch a gap in traffic. Just floored it, touch of oppo, and the ESP didn't even cut in.
You surely can drive the C63 without one, but not to that extend. And your rear brakes and tires will thank you, too.

Not A C63 as mine already has one but with my BMW before I had the LSD installed, you could be in a high speed corner and the ediff would brake the rear and it would completely unsettle the car at the exact time you don't want it to. As soon as I realised what was going on I got an LSD. It's just a great upgrade that when I was looking for a C63, it was on my "must haves" list.

My first mod was to fit an LSD, Wavetrac to be precise.
Made a massive difference especially with the OE skinny 255 rears and even better now with 275's.
Had a Wavetrac in my previous HSV Senator (US Pontiac G8) and loved it.
