Super bummed
Someone broke in to my car over thanksgiving night. A lot of expensive stuff that’s only valuable to me. Here’s a quick list
My registration and insurance paperwork
My escort IX but left all the wires
My handheld from EC which SCREWS me because I do not have the ability to switch between my mods now. I’m perpetually stuck on e85 but I don’t always have e85 stations around me. So I’m not moving a lot lately.
Various one off debit cards and gift cards I had like 50. Jokes on him calling each one to find out he can probably buy an Arizona Iced Tea.
He worried me because he left my hood open and my garage. Fortunately I’ve ultimately realized this was an act of an utterly depraved idiot.
I had brand new brake pads, rotors, and various other car parts ie: my old spoiler, lip etc all oem. HE LEFT ALL OF THAT
AND TO TOP IT OFF HE STOLE MY GF PANTIES.
BUT THERES MORE!
I was driving I discovered one of my fuel lines were cracked and I was leaking fuel. He tried to take my carbon intake but I guess he didn’t know how to use a screw driver that didn’t look like a Philips.
I didn’t post this for pity sake but leave a warning and to seek asvice.
Warning: RIverside is a **** place to live. Can’t wait to get done with school and bounce.
ADVICE: I need a new handheld anyone not using theirs anymore? To be frank I’m real low on cash after fixing up the damages the guy caused but anyone move on fromEC or just have a spare that’s my main priority. I’ll see what I can pull together. Thank you!

Sorry to hear. Scum like that should get their skulls cracked open. Your best bet is to call EC as each handheld is tied to a specific VIN, so someone else’s isn’t going to help you. Not sure if they keep your stock file or not - that’s the real valuable bit you’re now missing.

no I parked outside my garage in an apartment complex community parking lot. In a spot literally outside my assigned garage. It’s a real pain sometimes to park in there because one to two inches to the right or left. You will scrap. Literally, feels like I’m threading a needle with my c63. I avoid it if I go home late and have to wake early the next morning..
The other night was one of those nights I even parked next to the security car. Everyone in my complex knows that car is mine and I’m the guy who sets off everyone’s car alarm when he starts his car. However, often times it’s coming from a point of admiration. I’m sure the people having to turn off the alarm every morning hates me.
I have my money on the towing company that makes rounds around my parking structure time to time. Caught a guy looking in my car for my “parking permit” which is stuck on my windshield like everyone else’s. They would also have the necessary tools.

I’m pretty sure I have the stock file. If it’s the stock tune file since I saved it on a google drive before I sent it. Googles pretty good at just making copies of files you send or received. Albeit,if you are referring to the file that authenticates and synchronized the device to the specific vin number. I believe the vin file was something to the handheld constructed when you first set it up. I’ll go ahead and ask EC and report back soon!
