OE Discount Parts (Credit Card Fraud Alert)

Hi everyone,

I just wanted to give you all a heads up to keep an eye on your credit cards. I've placed three separate orders from OE Discount Parts and each one was with a different credit card. All three of those have had fraudulent activity on them as of last month and this month.

For reference:
  • First order placed in August 17'. This card had a fraudulent charge last month on January 15th.
  • Second order placed in Nov 17', this card had a fraudulent charge last month as well on January 30th.
  • Most recent order placed in Dec 17', this card had a fraudulent charge this morning. This card is BRAND NEW, the only charge I've ever placed on it so far was my order with OE Discount Parts.
I've already emailed Tracy notifying her. I think there is a computer/and or system that may be infected on their end. I don't think they are doing in as a malicious attempt. They are awesome to work with and order parts, but something is definitely going on.

This same exact thing happened on the BMW forums from another parts vendor getbmwparts.com. In that case it was a security breach on Trade Motion, which is a 3rd party vendor that a lot of online part vendors and e-commerce stores use for online transactions and payment processing. OE Discount Parts uses Trade Motion as well.. More info here: http://www.mye28.com/viewtopic.php?f=2&t=126989

I have placed some orders with her over the past few months and haven’t noticed any strange activity, and I check my accounts daily. Guess I got lucky.

Never had a problem and I use them all the time. Either unlucky or something else.

Interesting. eBay motors and Parts.com use Trade Motion too.

Yeah, I hope it doesn’t happen to you guys. I’ve placed those orders on different computers of mine as well. So it’s definitely not anything on my end. Seeing how bad the hack before was on Trade Motion, it wouldn’t surprise me if it was/is happening again.

I ordered from Tracy @ OE discount parts in October of last year (shows up as Skyland Automotive - Asheville NC on my statement).

I have since had two fraudulent charges on CC; one in December, and one just now on Feb the 2nd.

530i, C300,
Hello,
This is disturbing to know. I process the credit card payment after I verify the application, availability, other things to ensure a smooth transaction. I am out of the office due to the flu & expect to be cleared to go back on Wednesday. This will be a top priority upon my return. At this time I am gathering information to find where the problem is occurring.
Thank you for your support,
Tracy

Hi Tracy,

Thanks again for looking into this. I just want to be clear I'm not accusing you or your team of doing this. If you are processing the credit payment manually through a handheld terminal, I think the problem could be on the receiving end. Someone with access to the admin portion of the website, like the web host, etc. Hope you feel better soon.

LOL just got this in the mail. I am not surprised at all. This is like the third time Trade Motion has been breached.

Their timeframe is obviously (Oct 17' - May 18') incorrect as I had a fraudulent charge on my card two months prior.

530i, C300,
CC Fraud

I was alerted by a responsible, professional customer about the breach yesterday. Who texted me the letters last night, and we spoke to each other . I had no knowledge of any of this & contacted trademotion today, as this customer did too, to verify the source. It was ANY trademotion powered website, NOT only oediscountparts.com . THEY were breached, affecting websites that they maintain.

So, this is my sign off. If you are scared,,,, an almost everyday common act of CC scam , please do not use oediscountparts.com and just simply call me at 828-667-2880, if I do not answer, please leave a message, I will call you back . If this alternative is still frightening, please go elsewhere.

You are correct, it is Trade Motion themselves not OE Discount Parts. You’ve been tremendous to work with, and I’ll continue to give you guys my business. My point in starting this thread was to just give everyone a heads up to check their accounts, that’s all.

Although, Trade Motion needs to get their act together lol.
