Glad I changed injectors

Pretty sure 100% of their orders last week came from us on MBWorld after the link was posted in that thread (hell, even I bought a set for giggles!)

So disappointing numbers from today's dyno. Lost 14 rwhp vs 2 weeks ago. A/f ratio was the same and I'm sure it's because today is 88 degrees vs 48 degrees on the last run, not the injectors. Still a little disappointed
though. Will post a video link in a minute.

I looked a couple nights ago and they had 10 available, it went down to 2 that eve and then I just checked and it was back up to 10. I ordered them and some new plugs. I figured might as well start fresh for when I tune it in a month or two. Anyways, keep an eye on the site, they seem to keep adding them a few at a time.

Anther happy injector-fiend here. More than anything it has been on my 'to-do' list to replace the injectors purely as preventative maintenance what with having a 2010 M156 and being fearful of the ol' injector/hydrolock issue. As rare as it is, I've encountered the strangest of failures in all of my car ownership history, so I'm glad to be somewhat in the clear for this potential issue now.
Old:
New - Made only a few months ago by Bosch...lovely:
Drivability:
I want to say a smoother idle, but i think my engine mounts are showing signs of wear, so it's a bit hard to gauge.
Certainly feels incrementally smoother and more silky under general driving conditions. Bear in mind though that my old ones were ultrasonically cleaned last year anyway, so i'd be feeling less of an improvement than the rest of the guys in this thread.
Fuel economy - hard to tell tbh. I'm continually tinkering with my car for the moment, so can't attribute any fuel savings/losses to the injectors. I'll check my fuel trims soon though and see if any difference can be noted and I'll post up in the fuel trim thread that didn't get anywhere

May be a sign that I should pursue injectors for the E85 conversion I think I'll be pursuing...
Pls let us know if the same thing happened to you and if they could confirm price.

I did this on Sunday night and received an e-mail Monday to call RM - LSS, only had 2 in stock so I cancelled order - more to show up end of this month but couldn't confirm if at the same price?

There is a place by me that has a "ASNU classic gdi cleaning machine" and my car only has 30k miles, so I might just get them cleaned as long as it's not much more than the 300CAD the injectors were going to cost me.

I noticed they had a bunch again in stock so I ordered 8 (in transit) but looking after post 290 in the above link it appears like there is some with issues that were in a kit. Am I reading that right? Are the factory injectors made by bosch like the rm auto injectors? Should one stay away form the q2/q3/q4 if that's what gets shipped?
Also, these/stock injectors are still fine when running LTH's, correct?

Not sure what you mean by after post 209 as there are only 38 posts, and yes the factory injectors are bosch also, just say AMG on them also and cost a lot more than these with the same part number but don't say AMG. There are no issues with the kits being shipped, they are not shipping old injectors with different Q numbers, all should be the most recent generation Q number and be date coded within the last 6 months or so - when I did mine in March, some where dated in January 18 and some in November 17, so within a couple months of being manufactured.

It was in the thread on Eurocharged's E85 Kit. Link attached. Starts at around post 290.

Do injectors, like these, get flow tested and/or checked in some fashion after they're manufactured? I had this injectors put in the other week and my car seems to have a very slight shake/shimy, like if I have a half full water bottle in the cup holder, the surface of the water slightly ripples. I think I noticed it more sobecause I really had my eyes and ears open for anything wrong after the install and not necessarily because of the injectors. My tachometer needle is dead steady at idle, car is running just good, no CEL or nothing. It just got me thinking though, since injectors are so important, are they tested prior to sale?

Good question.
From what I've read about injectors in the past, there could be a difference.
People that recondition injectors sell them in classes.
The classes are price different and have to do with how closely the flows of the injectors are matched.
If 5% flow mismatch is ok, then it's one price.
If 1% is needed then it's say +10% in price
And so on.
So now that you asked this question and my recollection came back, it makes sense to me that manufacturers do the same as reconditioners and sell injectors in classes.
So maybe AMG demanded the 1% class and maybe this is why those injectors cost so much more.
Maybe the Bosch non AMG branded are in the 5% class and that's what you're feeling.
I did think that even with the "AMG tax", there still was quite a significant difference in price between Bosch and Bosch amg.
With this said, the 5% difference (the numbers 1% and 5% are made up by me as an example and to put my point across, not factual numbers obtained from Bosch), will not cause any harm but will cause only the idle beauty defect. Basically a small idle imperfection.

While what you're saying makes sense, it doesn't explain why everybody else has had a seamless transition from the stock injectors to these ones

Well seamless is a subjective adjective.
I consider my injectors transitioned seamlessly, but I didn't go testing minute vibrations with the glass of water method.
I also didn't do a before test.
Also for the before test to work, the amg branded injectors have to be perfectly clean.
The way to answer this once and for all is to have the amg injectors sent to an injector shop which cleans them and tests them and watch the test results for flow variations.
But we have this already, as a forum member DID sent the amg ones and posted the result.
Now we need somebody to send the replacement Bosch injectors for a cleaning and testing and let's see how the flow variations look like.
Unfortunately, or maybe fortunately, the cost of a cleaning is similar with the cost of a new set.
So nobody is going to clean these, they will just buy a new set.
At the price I initially found them and others continued, This is the new Injector reality for M156.
Maybe Bosch will want to provide a rating of their injectors for flow discrepancy, by the model number.
Oh, BTW freshness does matter in a purchase of injectors, that's why they come sealed the way they do.
And with forum members continuing to buy them, you're guaranteed to get fresh injectors from the vendors that choose to offer a competitive price.

Interesting, now I'm wondering if I should take my stock injectors and have them cleaned and flowed and put them back in. They only had 60k km's on them and came out looking clean (externally). I assumed if it was injector related that the RPM would fluctuate a bit at idle. I might do motor mounts this coming week and then see how smooth it is at idle and if it's the same, have the injectors cleaned and swap them back. Anyone know how long the used injectors will be okay all together in a ziplock? It's only been 2 weeks since they came out.
It's funny because I almost had my replacement injectors flowed before using them because I'm **** like that but I figured that was just being TOO ****. But I guess you're saying even if there is slight variances they're still just fine and safe to be using? I had a slight shimy/shake before them and I felt like after the injectors that shake got maybe 1-2% worse. I just happen to have a water bottle in my cupholder and noticed the water slightly rippled.

Look, you want to know more?
There's a lot more to know....
Anyway to store the injectors, put couple drops of gasoline in the zip lock bag and try to squeeze the air out as you close it.
If you want to be more focused, throw couple drops of gasoline inside.
Like if you turn an injector upside down, gasoline will come out of it.
Refill it.
So the factory stores them with some liquid in them, maybe kerosene, I don't know.
As far as the rest.
You can do a lot more.
When I send injectors out, I carve on the plastic of the body numbers and I let them know.
I then ask them to number the results in the test sheet.
Now I know which injector flows what.
Now I do the flow balancing and decide which injector goes where.
You can place them based on the firing order or based on the fueling branch.
There are theories but results can be had.
I am telling you that you can get the cheaper injectors to be as smooth in idle as the more expensive ones by carefully selecting their position.
I did this with the Subaru, not with the Mercedes cause I didn't flow anything there yet.

Or maybe he just never noticed minute ripples in his glass of water before because he never looked and is now paranoid after the trip to the shop and looking for problems...
