Before totaling my daily driver 2008 C63 last year, the following was replaced on my car in 3 yr ownership.
1) rear tires every 5k miles max. These cars eat rear tires
2) headlight switch $200 (DIY)
3) thermostat assy $120 (DIY)
4) front lower control arm $500 (Indy shop)
5) electronic steering lock malfunction $900 (indy shop + towing)
6) Front brakes rotor and pad replacement $500 (DIY)
7) Rear pads $140-150 (DIY)
Miles during my ownership was 88k to 117k.
Loved the car though I wish I could have found another. Ended up purchasing a Carrera S because the insurance on it was $100 cheaper a month than a C63

Thanks for providing the useful info. You guys are very helpful.
I live in NYC border of Long Island. I get 4-5 times snow each year (up to 10" sometimes). But the snow usually melt quickly.
Will I be fine just get a set of All-Season tires or I must get a set of snow tires? The space is tight for tire storage all year long. Do you guys just have a complete set of wheels (tires and rims) sit on the side at all the time? Or just need to do the tire and rim installation twice a year? And you don't feel it is a big pain to do this each year?
@Cmartin348, how do you feel about the handling of your C63 vs. the A4 you had? I would think the A4 should have superior handling comparing to a C63? Have you gotten into any trouble when your right foot is heavy on C63?

The car may slides at cornering when it is driven at 20 MPH with RWD. On the other hand, the car will be planted it at 40 MPH when cornering if it is AWD. So it has nothing to do with how much power the car has.

Power and torque have a lot to do with it. Ive had other rear wheel drive cars with less power that I couldnt get to step out unless it was raining. The more questions you ask the more this platform doesn't seem to be a good fit for you. I may be wrong but it seems like you actually think a docile a4 can even remotely be compared to a savage beast that is this c63. Theres alot more going on when you own THIS car.

All I am saying is the C63 regardless its power will be controllable if it has AWD. I will be in the position to see whether the car is a fit for me or not when I am driving one.

Thats why the number 1 thing you should do first is drive one aggressively. If you really are fixated on a c63 you could always leave it in "C" mode with stability control on, but that would defeat the purpose. You might as well buy a c300. I think a w205 c43 is exactly what you would want only its well out of your price range.

Skid pad comparison..
Audi A4 quattro .84 g
2008 C63. .95g
So yeah, the rwd C63 will out handle the awd audi.
AWD makes a bigger difference with acceleration than it does with handling at limit.
