440 cooling kit NEEDED

Can anyone point me somewhere that has one, all seem to be discontinued.

I'm in Australia, I can't do 3 laps on the track even. Anyone who can help order or send I will work something out with you for your time.

No one here knows what it is.

The 440 kit is no longer produced. There is another option, although I don't know if anyone on here has one...

Additionally, the air flow from the bottom of the car will be greatly improved if the rectangular vent holes (circled in red below) of the Stock plastic under-body panel directly under this Front Main Oil Cooler are widened, and a ~1.5" tall strip of rubber attached along the green line in photo below: (this under-body panel pictured below is from the 44O kit, but the principles apply to the Stock panel as well)

Price for the Black Series parts circled in red below includes: 4 brackets, one oil line, BS Air Baffle, and the 4 elastomer bearings ~$800 from Tracy at OEDiscountParts.
The larger BS cooler made by Setrab is ~$660

For the MB Part Numbers for the BS parts above, cross reference this website: iauto.lt/mercedes-benz/Car/C_180_920/RADIATOR_24147&EPC_SubGroups_ID=489537
There's this option too

Try contacting this forum member. He said he’s got a brand new kit never installed for sale. Not sure if it’s only wiling to sell it with the car or not.

Still prefer this 440 kit but thanks for the link I'm discussing with them now about a BPE cooler. Apparently lowers 8 to 10 deg celcius.

The 44O kit also replaces the second oil cooler in the wheel well with a triple-core one and significantly increases the air flow though there as well as it removes the extraction fan gubbins that just impede air flow. And, while the kit may no longer be available as a kit, the individual parts all are as they were essentially pulled from the parts bins of various other AMG cars.

IMHO before spending that kinda money on the 440 Cooling Kit. Try doing the grill block-off plate first. I did it last week using the thread below and its lowered my temps significantly. Prior to the install on a 25c day, id typically see oil temps around 108 - 118 after some harsh driving. Did the block-off plate mod (cost $60 to get 5mm plastic from Bunnings) and doing the same hard "Spirited" driving for the last week I haven't seen temps go over 102. Best part is tho, how quickly the oil temps cool down after you're done!

Normal operating temps are at 94deg now. Prior to mod they were about ~103deg. Great mod, and can be done in about 2hours!

hey man any luck with cooling kit I have same issue and it’s doing head in. I’ve even looked into trading in for an m2 competition but like you again only hit track 2 times a year 3 if I’m lucky. Keep me posted if you find a solution and I’ll help you in return as well if I find someone that can do for me too

Nah no luck. Only BPE kit above mentioned they said 8 to 10 degrees celcius cooler but it's pretty expensive I got a quote for 1800 usd when I'm sure you could put bigger coolers on it some how even a custom more row cooler in the wheel arch I know fab shops that could copy them but make them bigger. That's a lot of mucking around though I don't have time to do yet.

I just got an intercooler on the front now for the Magnuson so I can't fit much more around the front.

I second this opinion. It costs a **** ton of money to convert our cars to track.

Upgraded cooling, suspension, wider fenders, etc.

Or buy a Miata and ebay turbo.

OP, there are members on here who reported good results using a radiator block off piece. I believe BLKROKT noticed much cooler temps when tracking his car. This can be a very cheap DIY bolt on which may give you the results you want. https://mbworld.org/forums/c63-amg-w...ll-review.html

Also, I got much reduced temps with ceramic coated headers, probably dropped car about 5-10 degrees and temps go down much quicker. My radiator fan used to be on all the time during regular summer driving. Since I got (coated) headers last September my fan hasnt turned on, yet.

Sweet thanks ill try the block off. I don't think I'll worry now about trying to cool it for track though it's going to be not worth the it for how much track time it would see.

Normally oil temp is with in a reasonable range so I'm not too worried about it but crazy how hot it got after two laps.

I might try a few different things and see how I go. It would be nice to be able to give it a flogging around the track a few times a year though.

Don't get your hopes up too high. Radiator block-off did almost nothing for my FL car. You'll note that BLKROKT later added a 440 kit, a pretty good indication that the block-off wasn't solving the problem,.

I had better luck with the trans set in C rather than S or S+, apparently because it avoided the max rpm rpm under heavy loads that made the heat problem worse. With our flat torque curve, that's not a big performance loss.

Anytime. The C63 is a blast to drive around a fast, sweeping track... but the only way you really can enjoy it is with that 44O kit. Yes, it is not the ideal tool for the job, and I have a purpose-built track rat that is faster and a lot cheaper to abuse.... but I still take the C63 out a few times a year because it puts a massive grin on my face every time I hear that M156 at full chat.

It does not fit the PFL cars as the front bumper and thus air cooling intakes are different. Furthermore, the PFL cars use a normal slushbox instead of the MCT that causes the oil to overheat, which is what the 44O kit is designed to solve.

I'd be very interested to know what your track temps are & if the block off plate helped you?

Im in Australia too, and prior to the block off plate, i was typically seeing temps around 129c to 135c (limp mode) after about 5 laps. However, after the block off plate, no matter how hard I drive the car in full manual mode, i cant get it over 121c. Just last week I was at wakefield, and did over 35 laps and no issues. I ended up cooking the brakes! Ambient track temp was 19 degrees on the day thats about 4 degrees cooler then when car over heating prior to the plate. I dont believe 4 degrees in the difference in 15 degrees in oil temps - so im convinced the plate works.
