Semi-stupid Q re exhaust sound
Hi, guys.
I had my car fully serviced at my indy shop (motor oil and filter, trans, coolant, brake fluid, steering fluid, etc), and I swear that my exhaust sound (while driving only, start up bark is normal) is not as loud ever since. I even uninstalled/reinstalled V5 to make sure, but still same quieter exhaust. Does this make sense to anyone, or am I experiencing early onset of dimentia? Can anyone suggest any reasons as to why this could have happened, besides that maybe I am going deaf?

Check oil level. If it’s overfilled it can make the car sound extra muffled.

Do the ECU/TCU adaptation thing where you hold down the pedal and turn the key. I had a similar experience with my last service. The reason was that my battery was probably disconnected for a while when they took my dash apart and were trying to fix the rattles. When I got the car back it sounded quiet and wasn't anywhere near as aggressive as it was before. I even asked if they did some software updates what might have erased my tune. After the adaptation reset and driving it for a while really hard the car was back to normal for me.
