Header Install - Do I need locking washer/bolts ?
I’ve got an appointment this week to install my Agency Power Headers and Midpipes on my C63 Black Series.
For those running headers, did you guys buy new gaskets and hardware (nuts and studs) and if so, did you use locking nuts or washers? I’ve seen on other forums for other vehicles running headers that sometimes the bolts can eventually loosen up due to heat. Opinions / feedback?

Checking header bolts is probably something that should be done regularly regardless of what hardware you use. I haven't done them on this car but every other engine I've ever worked on, exhaust gaskets aren't reusable.

I used new gaskets. It's not worth a bad seal and damaging things by trying to save money by reusing a gasket. Plus it's a pain to replace them. I just used the hardware that came with my headers (removed the stock header studs). I can't remember if they were locking or not. We had to remove the studs because it was a tight fit and the headers wouldn't slide into place unless the studs were gone. They were replaced with the bolts that ARH included.

New gaskets and new nuts. They are both one-time use. The copper nuts lock the first time used (they are oblong).

Are you talking about checking torque and if it's not right, taking the nuts out, then putting new nuts in and torquing? How difficult is access to them, with stock manifolds?
