c63 duraflex black series conversion
Hey everyone!!. I just wanted to share my c63 black series duraflex conversion from extreme dimension. I paid around 2k for the whole kit. i am having one of my buddys install the kit. so if anyone is wondering about this kit i am telling you it will be alot of custom work. all the parts came in good and fit well to the car but you will have to cut, add and sand to get a factory finish. i went with this kit because i did not want to spend 30k for the oem parts. so with this kit i am able to fit a 12inch in the rear. this is the main reason i did the kit so i could have bigger tires and its not meant to be a black series. i went with forgestar cf5v wheels and the specs are 19x9 21et front 19x12 et 25 in the rears. these specs will get you as flush as you can. i will be running nitto nt05r 345x30x19. i will keep this thread updated as soon as i can get into the shop and see the progress.

Looks good. Question, are the duraflex parts heavier than the oem bumpers ? My question is besides the heavier wheels, how much heavier is this over your stock parts

i havent weight it. its not a 10 plus diff any way. the new front bumper is light bc it doesnt have the lights and bracket. the diff isnt going to change anything. the weight isnt that big of a change. not even close

I see plenty of Corvettes around driving just fine without falling apart and they’re fiberglass...

What shop is doing the work? I’m guessing it’ll be something like $6k all-in?
I’ve seen a lot of these on eBay and always wondered about the quality. Good to see that it’s something you can work with. I’m about to go wider on the track rat over the winter, and for that purpose I think this is a much more attractive option than the OE BS parts. Either this or the LW kit now....

I was gonna say...isn’t the HMS kit fiberglass too? The fit looks pretty good on this. I’ll be interested to see the results. I wish you had a sedan though. I’m a sucker for a BS kit on a sedan or estate.

I just wanted wider rears and the price made sense not to try out. I just wanted to run 345s in the back and now i can with this kit. This kit has the oem look and looks exactly the same as the black series and the only differnce is the rear diffuser. That why i chose this one over the other kits.

Usually duraflex fitment is trash but it seems to be going well for this guy so good for him. Let us know how much labor costs OP. Good luck.

i thought the same thing. maybe they stepped up the quality. around 4k cause i have a friend doing it. he told me its alot of work hahah.

Those polish guy body kits are really good I've heard (from the other classes)

Not trying to be negative. just a heads up. Also not saying that I wouldn't pull the trigger on it too lol but I have friends who have had fiberglass parts in the past... from what they told me, it's extreeeemely fragile. No flexibility at all. Anything that comes into contact with your parts will probably crack it. Like, one little tap from another car or a small little rock will probably crack your bumpers. Another example would be parking perpendicular to the curb or in front of a concrete parking blocks. Friend barely even touched it, maybe an inch over and cracked it. You have to be extra careful now if you want to maintain the look.

The other viewpoint is one I was just introduced to recently by the guy in charge of the body shop I use. He did my metal rear fender widening that I insisted on because I didn’t want fiberglass. We were talking about my options for going wider, and he actually prefers fiberglass. The reason is that it is VERY easy to repair. For my car which gets banged up on track more often than I’d really like it to, having to constantly fix little things with the metal is much more difficult than doing so on fiber would be. That’s why I’m looking at fiber now rather than doing a metal widebody. I don’t care about keeping it all close to original anymore, I just need width for functionality. Fiber is cheap and easy to work on. Good combo for some of us.
