Your car looks great! More info on the fire extinguisher, mount, and install please?

Thank you for the pics and info! I was actually looking at those exact extinguishers before. I assume you won't be able to roll the passenger seat forward anymore for someone to enter the backseat, correct?

Seat moves freely... no problems moving the seat forward to allow access to back seat...

Ouch. Any idea if those were OEM tires and rims and what tire pressures he was running? With the sidewall cut like that, I'm guessing it was from the tire rolling under the rim because the pressure was too low and/or the rim was too narrow for the tire width...

the stock AMG GT R has less than 2500 miles with OEM Michelin’s Pilot Sport Cup 2/ stock amg wheels... tire pressures checked/wheels torqued before session...
if your familiar with VIR we think he run over something entering the “snake”...

Actually - driving on the rim (deflated tire) at slow speeds even for a few hundred meters could have easily cut the sidewall like that (and he would have had to climb up through the esses to get to the pit entrance). And yes, if he drove over something or dropped a tire then all bets are off.

There’s a very nasty sharp pothole on the inside of the first right turn, right on the leading edge of the kerb, as you enter the esses. Even after the most recent repave it’s still there, but a bit smoothed out vs before. I wouldn’t be surprised if it’s still catching tires like this.

And that’s probably 2mi from the pits. I hope he didn’t drive it back like that.

When tires blow like that its usually due to tire pressure. Still a very nice ride
