Rear ended....smh
I can't even go through a McDonald's drive through without getting hit by a drunk. Luckily it's not too bad and doesn't look to have hurt the diffuser but idk yet for sure.

Theres more damage there than you can see sorry to tell you that.
Take it in for an estimate at a reputable shop. Chances are the whole trunk lid needs to go because its probably slightly bent. Does it open and close normally or does it require extra effort?
This can easily add up to a 3-5k estimate. Hope you got the persons insurance information.

I've worked in the paintshop for the other major German manufactuer for 20 years. I've done a little bit of everything including spangling. There's nowhere to get leverage for that crease and even then it would leave a high spot.

Yes people make mistakes, and no I have never wrecked my car into anything especially someone else’s car. There are mistakes and then there are mistakes! On July 3rd, 2010 I was crossing a street and someone literally was not paying attention to the road and ran me over with their F250 because they were more focused on their social media status then driving. Fortunately I lived to talk about it, the unfortunate part is the so called “mistake” cost me both of my legs above the knees. 8 years later and over a million in medical bills I’m back up and walking on artificial limbs, but that mistake could’ve been prevented if the driver would’ve kept their eyes on the road and not on their phones LCD display.
My point is carelessness is a real issue with many drivers today. People get behind the wheel of what can easily become a weapon and just don’t think about what the consequences are if they stop looking at the road for several seconds while the car is still moving. I don’t condone drinking and driving, if your a lil’ tipsy take a uber. This wreck happened because the person behind him was drunk and not paying attention. Keeping eyes on the road is such a issue that car manufacturers are implementing eyes on the road infared cameras with warning chimes to remind drivers that theirs eyes have been looking down or away from the road too long e.i. 2019 Cadillac CT6 and 2019 Subaru Forester.

Sorry someone messed up your cool car. At least they'll pay for it.

LOL I know McDonald's is trash but for some reason I'll eat the hell out of their chicken nuggets. It was my birthday too so I was treating myself. lolol
I assumed that it would be best to take it to the Mercedes dealer to get it fixed, but I learned that they just send their cars to the Honda body shop anyway. I did some research and found a good place not far from where I work. It took them a week and I got it back a few days ago. It is perfect. Actually better than it was since they fixed a couple of blemishes not related to the incident. Also I got them to leave off the new emblems since I'm going to wrap the car anyway over the winter.
I can always find defects in the paint of a car (even from the factory) but really it was tough for me to find anything wrong with the repair.
I'll post pics when I get it cleaned up. BTW the invoice added up to almost $3200 for everything.

$3200 to fix THAT?
Dude. A brand new rear bumper cover is $700 and trunk lid $600. Plus paint ($500) and install ($300). And that’s only if you had to use all brand new parts, which may be the case for the bumper cover, but certainly not the trunk lid. What’s the other $1000-1850 for. ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

My CLK63 was rear ended and cracked the bumper cover. I **** you not, just the part was $1800, plus paint and install. That was 2300-2500, and didn't include any dent repair or paintwork like on his rear hatch.
This is part of the reason why my SL63 is likely to be my last AMG/MB. The are just too rapey with parts and service.
