Moving from a W205 C400 to a W204 C63

Moving from a W205 C400 to a W204 C63
I'm considering switching out my W205 C400 for a W204 C63.
The C63 W204 has dropped enough in price for me to afford this car, but...I'm not going to lie, I really like the W205 design and interior.
But, I remember the W204 being the apple of my eye, especially all the love that poured out from the car community when it was announced this car was going to be the last N/A engine for the C63 line.
I guess my biggest priority would be the V8 drivers car aspect of the C63, but I was wondering...is this the right move? Should I just wait until the W205 C63 gets into my price range? That'll be another solid 2 year wait I think before a W205 is within my price range.
Appreciate any input!

I don't know about that C400 interior. A facelift 63 shouldn't cause you any issues. Besides, who wants a column shifter these days...or that giant screen stuck on the dash, fugly.
But seriously, if interior design is a factor then no one can tell you what's right for you. The mechanical specs speak for themselves so no point in rehashing any of that. When I was shopping, I drove an S3, S4, E92 M3, and the C63 on the same day. I had drive the C63 first and it ruined me. That sound, all the those torques, the seat squishing my ribs ever closer together...it was glorious!!

Interior on the facelift W204 C63 is great.
Can't see you being dissapointed in it.
Go drive one, I'm sure you will want to buy it.

Comparing apples and oranges really. The c400/43 is a watered down pedestrian friendly amg. Sure it has updated interior but it’s subjective. I do like the w205 interior but that’s not deal breaker imo. Get a FL w204 63 and you’ll never look back. Honestly it’s not even a downgrade from going back to old platform. There’s guys who have left the w205 c63 to come back. This is my second w204 c63 and if had too I’d get a third one. The car is honestly bulletproof and loads of fun and all reality it’s practical. There will never be another car like the w204 c63. The car is screaming with soul. I don’t think you’ll regret it once driving one.

Go test drive the both versions and that should make up your mind. I have done this and the W204 stands out way more than the W205 could, for me at least.
No doubt the W205 is very refined and nice but exterior aesthetics and the sound really missed the mark.

What about waiting 2 years for a W205 C63 to come into my budget?
I guess in 2 years time, the new W206 platform will have been announced and I'll be pondering the same thing as I am now, except it'll be a post about W205 vs W206
I have an opportunity to buy a 507 so maybe this'll be more special than a regular W205 C63

2010 C300 4MATIC........ 2011 C63 AMG.............. 2015 CLS400 4MATIC.....
The 2019+ models are great. I'll probably be going for one of those, the tech updates are especially nice.
You could get a tune for your c400 for performance. It gains nice amount of power.
Also C43 is great in the North because of AWD.

I have a W204 because of the design of the W205 - I think they ruined the car, hate the droopy rear end and the center stack, nav screen console in the W205 I also dislike, power of the new C63 is nice, but the character and sound of the M156 is second to none!

I drove both the C63s and the 507 I purchased and it was no comparison for me - I much prefer the 507 alcantra and CF w/o the center stack....and while the 4.0tt can be tuned to silly levels the soul of the 6.3 and tone are unbeatable for the price point....

I had a facelift 2012 W204 and traded it in in a 991S. Biggest mistake I ever made with cars (other than buying a stupid 3.0 lambo Uracco many years ago). There are very few cars that have the personality of the 6.2 and anyone who says they are not fast enough needs to be on the race track rather than a road shared by others.

I have never driven a w205 but have been in a couple. I don't think you will miss the interior much. The face lift w204 has a very nice interior and I much prefer it over the w205. I personally hate the tacked on screen of the w205. As far as performance there is no question the w204 will make you feel like a million bucks with the v8 bark and monster torque. Its like no other car I've ever driven and Ive had a lot. The w204 will go down in history as one of the best AMG products, I feel like it already is gaining that title.
