2014 oil temp sensor replacement

My oil temp is reading " --" and the fans are constantly on.

I asked my regular indy mechanic to give me a cost of the replacement of the sensor and he was led to believe by MB that the oil pan needs to be removed for the sensor to be replaced, which is about a 10 hour job ($1000+).

Looking at this thread https://mbworld.org/forums/c63-amg-w...r-located.html

I am thinking that the sensor should be in the engine block behind the starter. Is it possible that something changed on the 2012+ models?

I would really appreciate it if someone can give me the part number for the oil sensor and a replacement guide if possible for a 2013 model in specific.

Really appreciate it!

I seem to recall Tasos making a video on YouTube about modifying the oil temp sensor to get cars in the Middle East to run cooler. Or maybe it was an oil pressure valve....

Anyway, the temp sensor should be located behind the a/c compressor.

Is there any way that the sensor location has changed on the 2012+ models?

I just had this happen on my 2013. The oil temp sensor part number and location provided in the thread OP linked are correct (left front behind the A/C compressor). It was ~3 hour job for the shop I use.
