Well - here is the finished product.
There are only (2) things you need to know about this conversion, set in stone once in for all:
1) When doing a PFL to FL conversion, you do not need any mechanical hardware. This is a direct bolt on from hood, bumper, and grille. I went OEM everything with DEPO replica headlights.
2) Running lights and blinkers do NOT work - it's a different PIN conversion. You will need to purchase these from Germany, or pay someone a large amount of money and patience to rewire using a diagram: http://www.kabeldaviko.de/product_in...enon-mopf.html http://www.kabeldaviko.de/product_in...b-12-2009.html

Looks good man! Really good! You mentioned that there is some extra work that goes in to getting the DRLs and blinkers to work? I assume you got that sorted?
If you have the wire code to what wire goes where, it really shouldn't be too bad......Just get really good connectors and use really good felt auto tape to protect the wires like OEM.
Looks good though!! I still want PFL front end on my FL car......LOL

The connectors from the link I posted above show up this week. From the research I've done, that will solve the problem. It MIGHT need some module coding but my buddy can do that.
It would take 3-4 hours to route the wires correctly and splice I think...Way cheaper to buy this $170 connector set.
So stay tuned I'll have a final update on blinkers and running lights once I know for sure.
Glad to see the FL Hood worked out
Looks great bud!!
Plz stay safe
Thanks man! The hood sits higher than the pre-facelift, I like it a lot more - its aggressive. We're doing a run to Ballast Point on Saturday. Meeting at "The Point" in El Segundo for Cars and Coffee. From there, we will leave at 9:20 to Long Beach where we will meet up with a large group of AMGs. You're welcome to come!
The two connectors from Germany, which hooked up fine. It allowed for the blinkers to function.
However, the running lights won't stay on. They fire up, flicker, then go out. Our Mercedes electrical coder guy has never seen this before. My guess is that perhaps there is too much power going to the LEDs which causes them to short out. We need some sort of bypass. My thought is to buy a 2012+ headlight control switch, and take out the older one.
Any thoughts on this? There is little to no information out there, besides "it requires coding work" that no one knows about.
Grille is from eBay , doesn't come with the hood trim. It appears to be OEM quality, better than plastic ones I've gotten.
I had it professional painted gloss black.
Do you or anyone know if the FL grill will work with PFL bumper and hood? I'm just afraid to buy the Chinese one because sometimes they paint the black over the chrome and it ends up flaking.

It does fit - scroll up to my pre-accident photos you can see I had one on. The plastic is already black and they paint black, so you don't notice chips. I am actually having more issues with the OEM one that I got painted b/c it's got chrome underneath.

Did you ever ever get it all the conversion issues sorted out?

Finally done. Added 5000k HIDs and my mechanic wired a resistor on the DRLs so it works with factory fog lights. All in all, it's not that bad/hard/expensive of a conversion. Just no one wrote it out.
