So long, and thanks
Hi Everyone,
Well, over the holidays the decision was made to let go of my 2009 C63 (black with P30 package). If anyone has access to the auctions at Manheim I'd expect it to show up soon. My mistake was not buying an extended warranty when I bought the car. I ended up with what I think are a number of unexpected repairs on a car under 100k miles. Of course they weren't cheap fixes and I've finally said enough. Spending over $10k on repairs in less than 4 years just wasn't what I was expecting. I'll miss the power and the sound. Maybe some point in the future I'll consider a face-lift model.
Anyway, thanks to all for the help and tips on this forum. Best of luck to you all and your cars.

Out of curiosity, what were the repairs. I spent $12k on maintenance last year. While I didn’t enjoy that, I don’t want any other car. Best of luck with your next car. Mine is about to be sold (moving out of the country), but I can’t wait to get a facelift P31/P61 when I move back in a few years.

i spend about $1000 a year on parts as a DIYer for preventative maintenance but am always prepared for a 5k bill at some point in the 60-100k miles range.

Damn that’s quite a bit, that’s why I don’t daily my C63. Properly maintenancing for these high performance cars can be a nightmare. I put about $2-4K miles on my c63 a year. Daily a Lexus GS F Sport for errands and stuff. I’m curious to know what you had to fix too.

i had 3 oil changes, a trans service, 2 sets of tires, rear brake pads, billet pulleys, ROW airboxes (had a MAF code so why not), headbolts (preventatively), lifters, valve stem seals, and fuel pumps. The only things broken were the fuel pumps. The car didn’t seem to like the tune and headers with the stock airboxes, which was likely the cause of the code for the MAFs

Hope you get something else interesting next, any direction?
Don’t feel too bad, although my C63 was not that bad over the past 3 years in terms of costs, the CLS55 I recently got had about $5000 of repairs in the past month.

That's cheap. I haven't had my C63 service done at the dealer, but I remember paying $500 for service B on my C32. I do the A/B service myself now. It's really just an oil change for A and B includes a few other things like air/cabin filters, maybe windshield wipers and lubing some stuff. I can do a service A in about an hour now and it costs me about $85-100 depending on the oil I use. For me it's more about working on my own car. I do have a guy that does the trans/diff service though. Could I do those myself? Probably, but it would take me about 3 times as long without a proper lift.
