Another Cracked Valve Cover
Yep as the title sugests... Noticed a burning smell while driving. Pulled the car over and poped the bonnet to see puffs of white smoke. Got it home and noticed the right valve cover (non oil filler side RHD Car) towards the back that oil had started pooling on the little square moldings. Cleaned it up and noticed a small crack about 1/2inch long.
Im thinkin this should be easy to fix by myself, but cant seem to find a DIY that answers my questions..
1) Can this be done at home? I did install a catch can a few weeks ago, I would think this is easier?
2) Is this the right part number for the plastic cover and gasket: 1560160805 & 1590160221 for the gasket.
3) Torque specs & sequence. All I can seem to find is 10Nm - but the picture shows the metal covers. Is it the same for the plastic black covers?
Also, any hints or tips that might come in handy?
I did some searching on the forum, but I couldn't find anything for the black plastic covers, just the metal ones.
Thanks.

It's doable. I believe the torque sequence is middle out if i remember correctly, been a while. My other side is cracked on mine currently. Sometimes I get some smoke and it smells like birthday candles being blown out
