Photos (Sneak Peak) :: Bolt-in Catless Down-Pipes / Test Pipes :: 2010 C63
Many of you know that I've been on the hunt for a down-pipe solution since getting the car.
My goal has been to 1) pickup an additional 15 RWHP/RWTQ for track days and 2) have a 100% bolt-in/bolt-out solution.
A local master tech (well known to a few of us C63 owners in the PNW) took on the Super-pipe project yesterday. I'm quite impressed with the early outcome.
Below are some pics of the Stainless Steel Catless Down-Pipes/Test Pipes. They are 2.5" in diameter; same as the OEM pipes. These are unfinished (only tack-welded) but wanted to give you guys a sneak peak.
This is 100% bolt-in from the exhaust manifolds to the resonators. No welding or cutting to your stock system is needed. Install/Removal can be done in 30-45 mins on a lift. They'll work with the stock manifolds or PLM manifolds.
Note: I'll be using mechanical O2 simulators (DIY risers) for the rear sensors to prevent a CEL. A quick Google of "Mechanical O2 Simulator" will give you an idea of what I'm using. I'll post more in my write-up when complete.
The O2 bungs and final welding will be done tomorrow. Final photos, dyno graphs, timeslips and a full write-up will come Wednesday night!
The pipes:
What they are replacing:
Test-fitment is spot on!:
Mated to the PLM manifolds:
More to come!

Super cool super!
I really wish I could join you guys on Weds.
Oh, BTW, when I "Googled" "Mechanical O2 Simulator" a puppy died somewhere. I found out that if I "Binged" it instead no puppies were killed. Just say'n.

You can find them for $2.99 or $3.99 in Autozone, they are also known as sparkplug foolers.

Superlubricity,
The product looks far beyond what I expected, very nice indeed. The problem that I see is people putting something similiar on a bone stock car and really messing with the AFR very bad.
On a bone stock car removing the 4 cats and putting a 02 simulator got to screw the AFR readings badly, would you agree? my .2c

BTW, they are spark plug non-foulers, not foolers.

It will be nice to see if this does what I think it will do.
BTW, Russ told me it was "stupid loud" when he started it today.

If this makes power, someone should be making it. Brian @ GT Pro dabbled in the idea at one point. I like the idea of a swappable solution. I was thinking of putting on some gorgeous 16" polished Vibrant resonators for sound control.

Nice work superlubricity. This looks awesome and looking forward to your write up and videos. That is exactly what I would be looking for if the set up is not insanely loud. I hope your friend is willing to duplicate your set up for a reasonable price.
It appears that the end of the custom pipes fit on the stock resonators. Am I correct?
