The C7 Vettes have much more acceptable cockpits than the C6s did - which would be more inline with the prices of used Hellcats. They just look so... well... General Motors. That stearing wheel may as well be in a Silverado pickup truck - lol.
And that green Hellcat Adi posted was the deal closer for me... I'm getiin' one :-)

OK, wrong forum, wrong manufacturer, wrong everything but you guys are my brothers so I'll ask...
My wife and friends call me 'transaction boy' because I like to rotate my cars way too often -- not that I am considering parting with my beloved w204. But I AM considering picking up a 2016 Hellcat since they have come down in price to a reasonable level and can be had with under 10,000 miles for +/- $45K.
I don't know why but I am fixated on driving this car. 700 freaking HP. 700! That's just sick. I am obsessed.
So what say you fellas? Anyone done it? Talk me into or out of it please :-)

So, I work in the Auto Auction industry. I have sat in and tested accelerator pedals on many different makes, models, etc hahah. I personally didn’t like the feel of the hellcat and here is why.....1.) It rides very large compared to the C63 2.) The turn radius sucks 3.) The interior feels like you’re sitting in a Dodge Caravan 4.) It’s not a C63 HOWEVER the power is definitely there.....if that’s what you’re looking for. The hellcat moves but as soon as you come up to that first corner good luck. That is only my opinion. I’m sure others will disagree. It’s all about what priorities you have and how many you can check off: Top Speed, Cornering, Quickness, Interior Feel, Exterior Look... if you could have them all you would be on a McLaren Forum.

Hell yea... I've no idea what 700 HP feels like and I'm all about finding out. AND, as has been pointed out, 1,000 HP is within pretty easy reach.
Like you said, it's worthless on any road that isn't as straight as a frozen rope but we have plenty of those here in Virginia and I have my C63 for the twisties.

So, hate to break it for those of you who don't know, but...
"Isn't as manueverable as the C class"
Because it's the size of the E-class...you know why?
pLaTfOrM bAsEd oN E-cLaSs
Yea it's really a benz. And you'll still find Mercedes symbols on some parts.

He told me the exact quote from the head of Mercedes Engineering was, "we will not under any circumstances allow our transmissions to be polluted by being attached to your ****e cars. If you want them, build them yourselves -- here are the design plans"
I don't know what ultimately happened but it's a true story.

Had 2 mopars with those trans and never had a problem....
Dare I say, I've been looking at a Mercedes during those years and it seems like the benz's have more problems? Lol
Regardless you can't really base that on everything.
You'll hear that mopars are unreliable, and you'll hear that Mercedes is unreliable.
It all comes from 2003 Camry owners (beige) so I wouldn't fret. Give it a test drive first of course to see if you actually like the car.
But yeah that green is a beast isn't it haha.

You say that like it's new news. Daimler has owned both for like 20 years.

There must be something wrong with your car. With intake spacers you should be pulling on FBO GT-R’s and McLarens.

Lmao thats a good one. but with such little mods If I can beat a hellcat and have a much more desirable interior and exterior as well as handling why would i buy a hellcat?

So maybe it was a fake badge.

Because whatever you pulled on wasn't a Hellcat. That, or he was too busy texting his GF to know he was in a race.

Im not saying that you didn’t beat a hellcat because I wasn’t there but are you sure he was even racing? I have driven both and the hellcat should absolutely stomp our 63’s light to light or in a straight line. Even if they weren’t using the red key, they should have still won.
So maybe it was a fake badge.

(obviously joking, is it April 1?)

Well, it’s just math. Figure a Stage 1 tune with cat delete puts you at like 420whp for arguments sake. Then you add 250whp for the magic intake spacers, and now you’re at 670whp. That’s exactly where stock Challenger Hellcats are dynoing, plus they weigh a little more. I could see him pulling slightly.
but yeah couldve totally been a fake badge but we were playing chicken for a little bit until we lined up at a light. we both looked at each other and then when it turned green we both took off but I pulled on him almost a car length before letting off
not sure what year or details of the hellcat but whatever it was lost fair and square
btw intake spacers for anyone wondering are only good for about 20-30 hp. but still get an honorable mention because its near the same amount of gains as the cat delete

ahhh I see where the confusion is. I have a biturbo CLS63 RWD stock it makes 525hp to the crank. With my tune and mods I am pushing 700+ to the crank for sure for sure. Haven't dynoed for exact number but thats whats regular numbers are for people with the same setup.

I will say this. I went to the track and I was running faster then 2 stock from what I knew hellcats that were there. Spinning isn’t winning vs my mods and drag radials. The track wasn’t prepped well but street tires are hurting on that car. The fastest they ran was a 11.9. Now their trap speed well that was faster. More horsepower obviously. I’m saying it’s possible to beat one on the street if they just spin.

True but buying another set of tires (as you did) would change that...
Technically a real test would be same wheels/tires but no need as we know a HC would win
