Scroll back up to Dadcar's pic. On the left you'll see a clamp with 2 bolts that's the V-band. It's also the location you make a single cut.

What I liked about Mike's design is that it's easily reversable

I saw this video saying to weld the V bands on.
I thought it was Mikes power pipes in this video.

I am basically looking for the exact same thing as the OP.

If you do the secondary cat delete and resonators will it be one solid pipe or two pieces like a power pipe for cats AND an H pipe for the resonators?

I like the ease of mikes but if i am doing both i would probably just go somewhere and have them make a solid straight pipe for each side.

Am i wrong in thinking this?

Also.... is the oem exhaust stainless?
Mikes is all stainless correct?

The OEM exhaust is 304 stainless steel which will not corrode and a magnet will not stick to it.

Last I heard from Mike, he does not use 304 stainless for his pipes, he uses the cheaper type of stainless which does not contain as much chromium and nickle.

I guess if you do not drive it in inclement weather it should last a long time but it not the same as the OEM exhaust.

The OEM exhaust is not 304 stainless. I don't know of any cars that have a factory 304 stainless exhaust. It is most likely 441 stainless or one of the other newer 400 series ones.

I just wanted to follow up on some of the sentiments expressed above; I know certain material and configuration elitists will have opinions based on their preference; but for someone who is genuinely just looking to increase sound, texture (burbles cracks etc) what are the requirements/performance draw back to just deleting the pipes in question, and welding in straight pipes..

There can be certain arguments made for titanium materials, specific shaping on the extremely high end systems that are specifically engineered at the bends etc but, as far as deleting the secondary cats, resonators etc..why not just cut those out, and weld in permanent straight pipes. Most of these kits, clamps and so on just seem like another way to someone justify their product sales..
