c63 OEM BLACK SERIES conversion

I am doing a new thread for my oem black series. I made a thread couple months back with doing a fiberglass kit which i gave up on. It was way to much work to get it right so i decided to buy all oem black series parts. ( over a 100 parts). if you are trying to do the same thing, you are looking at around $12k just for parts, 3k to take the quarters off and about 5k for paint depending on shop. I did not want to spend another 8k for that so i decided to build this at home in my garage. I did not buy the track package and did not get the wider track because i wanted custom deep concave rims. Technically this is a black series now. all parts came from Mercedes Germany and pretty much all on back order and will be waiting months to get them. follow me on instagram @ blwn63

My car specs
- oem black series conversion with factory solar beam yellow. paint code 278
-full custom black Alcantara interior with red reflections carbon fiber
- ESS tuning 2.9 Whipple supercharger 8 psi for now
- KW DDC suspension
- agency power headers with no mufflers
- one piece carbon fiber driveshaft from the driveshaft shop
- 390mm front rotors with 360mm in the rears
- forgestar cf5v super deep concave 19x9 et21 19x12 et25
-nitto nt05 275mm nt05r 345mm
- aem meth kit
- vrp thermal gaskets, intake spacers, 3.5 inch air intakes
- weistec spark plugs
- level 10 built trans (coming next month)
- 180 thermostat
- more coming soon

quarter panel off

test fitted

steam roller

black series wheel arch welded on

towed to get painted

Seriously nice work... and a lot of it. You were a man on a mission :-)

Now that it's done, would you do it again? Or would you just pony up for a low-mileage BS? I bet you have just about enough in yours to cover one :-0

Yes, i would definitely do it again. Its cheaper. The only thing is waiting on all the parts and it takes a while because most are on backorder.

hater!!. it is because i have every single genuine part a stock black series has??. Black series is just an option, not a stand alone car. i bought that. P98. if your car was side by side with mine, there would be no difference other than mine is a lot nicer exterior and interior. Plus it was cheaper than yours with all the additional upgrades!!!

Hater? Brother I think its cool that your building that car, but to say its "technically" a Black Series is laughable. In many ways your car is superior, but at the end of the day its just a modified C63 with a BS body kit. Its like someone taking their C300, dropping in a junkyard 6.3 and few few other bits and saying they have a AMG. Again, congrats on the build, its way cool, but it is what it is...

It looks good and if your happy thats all that matters. You do know a black series is more than just the kit though like you have said above? The suspension is different, the brake calipers and discs are bigger, the track is different, the rear axle is different, the engine cooling is different and on most of them they have diff coolers too.

No i did not know that lol. i got a better suspension than a stock black series, kw ddc. the engine cooling is an option even on the black series. track package which i state i did not get. i didnt get the wider track because i wanted deep concave rims and with the e class track you cannot. i also got the 390mm rotors up front and 360mm in the back. so what are you saying here?. Plus i got a supercharger, 345mm tires in the back compared to 285mm, carbon fiber drive shaft which the black series does not have and after all the mods plus solar beam paint i paid 20k less than a stock black series. you do the math. built mine instead.

What ever you getting at. My car and a black series have the same engine and components. Just a different tune.

I love build threads! Dale, you're always going to have people telling you what you don't want to hear, just try to ignore it. Can't wait to see it all put together!

I'm getting at it having a baffled block. Black Series short block has a different part number than others.

^ he’s right about that (for once)
would need to add the BS block, wider rear track and active diff cooling to be complete

Still a great build, can’t wait to see it finished

Just going to throw some more hate out there...

I'm hating because that beast isn't in my garage. Killer build man, and to each their own. For me, I don't have the ability you do, however I would definitely go your route over a stock BS, but both have their own merits.

Man do I love the color! Good pick on the ESS blower too!
