Mikes Power Pipe Install Help
Just received the power pipe today. The craftsmanship on this part is superb. Unfortunately, I can't get under the car to install it, so I'm taking it to a friend's garage equipped with a lift. Question is, what size are the bolts on the existing clamps (secondary cats and resonators)? And does anyone have the torque specs on these? Thanks in advance.

It's an exhaust system you don't need a torque wrench.
Hand tighten, then just a little "umph" to secure it.
As far as size, make sure you have a good ratchet set, some (liquid wrench or PB blaster
and it'll come off fairly easy.
I think there were some 14 and 15mm bolts
One more thing, you will need a STRONG saw with a good blade to cut the factory exhaust. Ask Mike for details on that!!

So not at home so not sure the size but you will need some external torx sockets or sometimes called female torx probably e12 or e14. The torque is actually printed on the side of the clamp. The clamps are stainless the bolts and nut part are not and rust like a bugger I would recommend buying all 3 clamps new unless you live in a dry salt free area. Chain pipe cutter will do the trick to cut the pipe and is easier to work with than a saws all in that area.

Looked tonight, 99% sure you need an E12 socket for the clamps looking at what I last used 2 days ago when I had them off.
There are 3 clamps if you decide to replace, 2 are the same 1 is a little different, you will need 2 of 0004901441 and 1 of 0004901541 and the gasket is hard to save sometimes and get it to seal, so the gasket if you need is 2214920081 . 2 of the pipe joints are ball and socket so hence the 2 clamps the same, the 3rd joint is a slip fit with a fiber gasket and then similar clamp with a slightly different diameter. Clamps run $20 each, gasket is $25.
This is what I used to cut the pipe

For what it's worth I've done this twice and used the original clamps again
First time was a 2012 car in 2015 (3 years old)
This time a 2015 car in 2019
Both were low miles however. But if you're careful I don't see why you need to get new clamps. They should be reusable

Had to cut mine off, was on a 2013, did it 2 years ago, so 4 years old - but in new england and 4 winters rusted them solid. Clamps where great as stainless, but the bolt was very rusty and seized into the threaded ferrel quite badly. Possibly enough WD40 or equivalent and an impact would help. My 507 they came off like butter when it was 4 years old but it had not seen any winters and salt!
