I saw an E53 coupe at the dealer exactly like that and it was one of the best looking cars I've seen.
Can't really tell in photos.
But RokenR also seems to confirm it, and he floats around MB a lot

The AMG V8 (their heritage) was the main reason I got me the W204 C63 and am considering the W205.
I keep hearing about these EU strict guidelines and fines but I don’t understand why wouldn’t they trickle that cost down to us and stay true to their identify. That way they get to keep our business (enthusiasts) while they offer a 4 banger hybrid to whoever wants them or can’t afford the V8 model.
If this news is true and I can only speak for myself, Mercedes has just lost my business.

Very disappointed to hear this, like many others i bought the C63 for the sound and as it was one of the few large engine small car’s available. I wish someone would make small v8’s if they have to shrink engine size, I would still take a turbo hybrid 3.0/3.2 litre v8 but going back to a 6 or a 4 is too much to swallow.
I doubt mercedes cares though as I only buy cars 3+ years old.

At this point, it's a rumor from one site (AutoCar) that all other media outlets are re-sharing. I'm just hoping it remains a rumor and doesn't come true. I have a W205 FL C63S, and will retain it if this doesn't turn out to be just a rumor. My bets are still on a 48V mild-hybrid electric assist based 3.0L I-6 (with higher power than the E53/CLS53/GT53 variants) or a similar electric-assist based 4.0L TT V8.
With the batteries, the V8 hybrid is going to be very heavy, and hence chances of it making into the W206 C63 are very slim IMO.

Well that answers the question of whether our cars will ever be worth anything
