2009 C63 Gas gauge only goes a little halfway
Hey all,
My 2009 C63 gas gauge only goes up a little over halfway each time i fill up. I also got a CEL for running too lean. Forgot the exact code but I can get it if needed.
No smell of fuel in or around the car

Lean code I would check the intake manifold gaskets (spray some wd40 or carb cleaner around the gasket area if the idle changes you have a leak and it will set a lean code). Any lean code is air entering the system after the mass airflow sensors, so also check the intake tube clamps just behind the sensors.
How many gallons you getting in the car when you fill - is it only filling with like 9 or 10 gallons of fuel or is it filling to the brim and the gauge mis reading. Either it is a sender issues or a filling issue I would guess (which may be related to the charcoal filter and being overfilled at some point maybe but then you usually smell some gas)

I will do that WD40 idea tonight and report back.
As for the gas, I ran it to empty to test that out and was able to put 15 gallons in. Still stopped at the halfway point.
The CEL comes and goes. forgot to mention that. Doesn't seem like anything I do triggers it or makes it go away
