Supercharged guys - who’s had their standard gearbox last?
Who has had similar power and had the standard box last a long time? (More so talking about pre facelift so not MCT box).
Cheers

(Yes I realize I can just drive it to Weistec and drop it off now. Still curious.)

. At that time I put the Weistec pan and added a second oem transmission cooler with the integrated thermostat. I sent the valve body off to Weistec in hopes that would help prolong its life. It didn't really seem to matter. While apart this time I checked the solenoids upon removal to see if they were clogged at all (none were) and found that one of the mods is to lop off the screen of the primary line pressure feed solenoid. I replaced the solenoid with a new on because that is a trash mod. That's like removing your oil filter because you want better oil pressure lol. WTF. On round 3 I tried something a little different so I can tell you it's not the transmission that came with the car although it is a 722.9 . I'll keep ya'll posted on how it holds up. I rushed to get out to the track for the last day it was open this year and ran an 11.5 at 130mph. Ambient temps around 50, which was way too cold for any street or my toyo R888's to hook like a slick my slicks, which I brought with me but forgot the damn spacers!!! (still made at myself for that) The fastest I'd ever ran mph previously was 127 mph. Mind you this is a full weight, pump gas car, no weight removal bs, had a jack and the spare tire in the back. Full size front tires/wheels. No trickery. 19" hre wheels, akrapovic slip ons and 2pc girodisc rotors front and rear. No trunk tank, no ice. I haven't weighted the vehicle, the scales at the track are always broken when i go. Fastest I've ever ran previously was an 11.2 (don't remember the mph likely 127, maybe slower) Dyno'd at 538whp / 534wtq on a mustang many years ago.
It's been a solid setup in general and I can't really complain. The only breakdowns or all out failures I've had are a driveshaft snapped where it splines into itself, and 1st gen idler pulleys that only had 1 bearing failed. They since updated with a double bearing setup. It's also eatin 2 or 3 power steering pumps and it's time for another. I definitely need to change the reservoir setup when I replace it.
Im getting ready for a motor build and some major changes so we'll see how this thing holds up.

My engine is currently in bits. It needs a piston and a rod - a set of forged pistons and rods is the same as a single rod and single piston from Mercedes! Hence now considering a supercharger install together with a forged build.
I run an '07 E63 with the 7g...and thus am interested in gauging the cost of a 7g build. Or, alternatively, ditching the 7g and retro-fitting in a later MCT box (apparently stronger). However, I wonder if this is even do-able into an early non-MCT factory chassis?
