ELRING head bolts for m156

Hi all, I posted this on E63 forum, but posting here as well since C63 has the same engine.

Has anyone used Elring head botls for m156 engine sold by FCPEuro? https://www.fcpeuro.com/products/mer...ing-1560160769

OEM set costs 270 USD, when Elring costs 104 USD. FCP support person said that MB OEM might be re-branded Elring. On one hand I want to save some money. On the other hand head bolts are important. So I decided I'd ask forum members if anyone has used them successfully.

Get them here for $190 OEM mercedes, I love FCP but you will not need to do the bolts again so warranty isn't really needed. https://www.mboemparts.com/oem-parts...olt-1560160769 or https://www.mbpartsmiami.com/oem-par...0160769?c=az0x

Why take a chance to save 80 bucks.

Thanks! Just ordered from them right now. You are right that it is not worth the risk. Honestly I think Elring is the OEM supplier to MB and could be a great way to save money. I found that they were OEM supplier for some other engines. But, I couldn't risk it. In case something fails later, I don't want to be thinking that "had I bought OEM, this would have not happen" . I also ordered Elring valve cover gaskets from FCP.

That is what I did, ordered the OEM parts when doing my lifters and got the things that I may need to replace at some point from FCP like gaskets!

My OEM set has arrived. After reading and watching a ton on this forum + plus videos from Tasos Moschatos I think I am gonna go ahead and replace my head bolts myself. The only thing is that I don’t know how good is my $20 AutoZone torque wrench. This is going to be my 3rd DIY on this car. Previously I had done front air strut replacement and intake manifold cleanup and gasket replacement. I am not a mechanic. All work had been done using the resources from this community.

If you even suspect your torque wrench is not accurate, get a new one, I like the etork ones on amazon great for around 50 bucks or for 20 bucks more the digital version.
