How to re-install carbon fiber trim

My son's passenger side door carbon fiber trim piece fell off last night. It is backed with an almost felt-like material but there is no real evidence of any glue. Maybe something on both ends but I can't tell for sure.
How should I re-install?

Glue. I used GE silicone adhesive.

Thank you. Is this how it was done from factory? Is that what the "blob" on each end is? If so, it seems like very little glue. How much adhesive should I use? Just a few dabs? Zig-zag all the way down?

Not sure it matters since I can't think of the scenario where I would want to remove...but just in case.

A little bit goes a long way

It doesn't get picked at to move a bunch. Just 3 dabs (2 ends and center) I would say down the center should be fine

You could also put a LIGHT zig zag like you suggested

Yeah I zig zagged with plenty because I don’t anticipate taking it off. But now that I think about it.... just the thin carbon cover came off that plate for me, which should just pop in with those pegs/clips. I wouldn’t glue that whole plate in place in case it ever needs to come out, like for an airbag recall.

recently had my front passenger piece pop off - just the thin outer piece of carbon fiber trim (just like you it looks like) I may eventually polish some tiny blemishes out of it so to temporarily keep it in place i used these:

Scotch(R) Removable Wall Mounting Tabs, 11/16in. x 11/16in, Clear, Box of 35
Amazon Amazon

actually one square holds the entire piece on, but it already sat in place on its own - just came off during fun driving

just a thought if you dont want it to be permanent
