PPI - Cam lobes

Mine was quiet for the first 8-12 months of ownership then the ticking started.

I doubt anyone will pull the cam covers unless you to have it done and dealer is likely to just say no and not deal with it and wait for another buyer. You might be able to get it scoped through the oil fill hole and get a bit of a look at the lobes on the drivers side as that is very little work and gives you some idea.

The adjuster always are fine. Only that plate with that little pin have wear. There is a repair kit here in Germany. Only the plate and the pin from a very strong material. Never adjuster problems again.

Crocodon, I'm sure you can have a reputible Mechanic, doing your PPI to use a Bore Scope (extened and flexible camera head, with remote TV screne), to look at your Cam Lobes and Followers?
Mind you, they will ony be able to inspect the LHS Cam etc, via the Oil filler cap.
Hope that helps
