along with everything everyone had suggested/recommended i'd direct you to the path of a full standalone ecu. the factory computer with HP Tuners can handle what you throw at it, but a standalone will more easily allow you to finalize and perfect your tune and make the most power with less time lost. a standalone will also allow you full use of any fuel you pump through integration with ethanol sensor functionality from the get go.

I agree, I just feel that is excessive in this day in age. It just seems there could be alot easier ways to tune and monitor e85 with out the flexfuel setup or a standalone. I may just pickup a flex fuel setup and see what happens. Thanks for the input

I myself am running HP Tuners with a eFlexFuel kit and larger injectors. It all is possible, but the amount of time spent tuning is more than I'd ever want to go through again. My 2003 Audi A4 1.8t with Bosch Motronic and Eurodyne Maestro took me 1.5 months to figure out how to maximize every map available for the best power and drivability. Literally had to tune every map available. Made so much power that I snapped the turbo shaft of my factory turbo in half. My 2007 Mercedes E63 with Bosch Motronic with HP Tuners has taken me 3 months and was A LOT more painful to figure out. There are more many maps available with the Bosch 9.7 M156/M159's computer than the Bosch 7.9 of the VAG 1.8t engine. Many are protection and calculation maps so without knowing what maps to touch, you literally will be wasting your time. Support for HP Tuners if you're not a GM is pretty much nonexistant. If factory injectors and HP Tuners, no problem...I could dish out a tune for you literally within minutes.

Yea, I'm going with Id 1050x injectors and I think instead of walbro 450s I'm gonna do two e5lm pumps with return style fuel system. But before I spend 600-1200 on a flex fuel kit that could be spent for a standalone etc.i need to research a little more. I may try a 93 tune and go with eflex pro setup.

C85 would be straight 85% ethanol always, and very high quality. E85 would be pump which can vary its ethanol content depending on region and season. In warmer climates like California, we're locked to roughly 81-82% ethanol at all times.
