Accelerator pedal position sensor issue

hey guys,

for about 6 months now the car has been throwing an ecs light and dropping me into limp mode. Switch the car off and turn it back on and it’s good to go. But as of recent times it’s started to happen regularly so it’s time I do something about it.

scanner has given me p210b and p061b I was hoping someone has come across this issue before and can shed some light.

Its saying it’s the accelerator pedal postion sensor. Any help would be would be appreciated.

looking at the codes you have, where are you seeing the accelerator position sensor being the issue?

The p210b seems to be the throttle body actuator not the pedal
The other code p016B seems to be tune related and some have reflashed to fix, but also see some references to the throttle body and to issues with the ECU throwing that code.

So neither scream get a new gas pedal to me but that might be the cheapest thing to try if something you are seeing is indicating that as it is a common failure

Is the car tuned?

thanks for the advice guys. Roadkill rob I read it on a code reader page so I’m just stabbing in the dark but the more I read the more it’s saying it’s likely my throttle body actuator 😒 which from what I can tell isn’t cheap.

yeah the car has a supercharger on it and it’s turned

Ya that makes it a bit harder as you can't just remove the tune as a test, although since you have a super charger it may be easier to get to the throttle body. Since it has been relocated with the SC maybe double check the wiring and plugs in case something is rubbing or the connectors are loose or corroding. If you know someone with another car with the same pedal, it takes about 5 minutes to swap and rule that out, but I suspect the throttle body is what the codes point to or wiring for it.

Good Luck with it.

I think Rob nailed it. Torque calculation codes are tune related. Throttle valve is likely throttle valve going bad or possible wiring / wiring harness for the throttle valves. What kit and what tuner?
