Paid $700 for headers including shipping, $900 for install which included welding up any weak points/lap joints, and then spent $20 on OEM gaskets, all in all about $1600 for a great increase in power and sound, I get a lot more compliments now on the exhaust. Also my welder was surprised at how good the quality the OBX headers were, he said he didn’t need to touch up much of anything at all. Also my second cats are straight piped, no x and it sounds perfect with the stock back boxes

And it gave a very healthy bump in power.
Have you seen the obx/Becker and the VRP headers side by side?

Get MBH or America Racing Headers. The quality is top notch. VRP, IPE all have the o2 spacers inside the collector. Stupid and blocks flow. If you want cheap headers the ones on EBay for 700 bucks are a steal and the welds are pretty good.

Both mbh and arh have the o2 sensors in the collector as well... and as far as the cheap eBay headers the collector design is Considerably less desirable flow wise than the vrp or IPE.

Go to 13:00. That’s VRP’s headers with a o2 spacer inside the collector... Same device as Fi headers and IPE.

They are EBAY headers would do you expect? A BURNS collector? Lol most guys on here only care about EC version 9000 with spark plug blow out pops.

Those aren’t in the headers or collector those are parts he’s showing you can add...
he’s showing what a o2 simulator is or how one could work.

at 13:00 Oj says he cut out a piece of the exhaust. They modified Alex’s headers to remove the o2 spacer which is inside the pipe. It’s after the collector if you want to get technical. The spacer is inside for rear o2’s.

yeah I rewatched and he does say that was on the header. Those must not be vrp headers than because the picture I loaded is the rear o2 the front o2 is slightly ahead of that. Whatever system used that contraption would definitely hinder flow. Way easier to code the o2 to not read than try and limit the flow to them with that system
Edit : just watched his previous video installing the headers and they are definitely vrp headers but you can see when he is installing them there is no contraption inside the exhaust that they had after so not sure where they cut that off from
I didn’t get cats so maybe if you order cats you get a pipe with that o2 blocking contraption in it ?

I don't know if that's what VRP was actually claiming as their headers or not because VRP's def don't have that inside anywhere. Oj didn't cut that piece off unless it was a test version from VRP and not final production.

And I ordered Cats so that didn't have anything to do with it. I'm guessing he said that but wasn't actually from his so it was an example.

We removed the O2 spacer from the inside of the header, the kits now come with 90* extenders for the O2s, They have been like this since march.

How am I talking out of my ***, by just asking a simple question?
There are plenty of pictures out there already. Going by the available pictures, I can't tell a difference between VRP or Becker headers in terms of weld quality.

Besides, did you not carry OBX/Becker headers?

there is a review of a forum member who bought obx headers a couple years ago and took pics, and promptly returned them. Welds and thickness and flanges were poor.

My new setup is armytrix mid pipes with 200 cell cats and remus exh and the car feels just as fast if not faster than full bolt on headers.

This is promising news. No cats in my setup and it's loud AF!

so you are saying that the welds on your headers are better? Better than what the welds on those OBX below below look like.

No, I live in South Africa. You don't see much here. I've got one of the few C63's with imported headers. Most here have headers made up locally, which are not as good.
